idk if we've done a blueksy discourse cycle on this yet but i *am* seeing a lot of people who are plainly unfamiliar with the anti-helmet side of the argument entirely! there's a very good case for it!

"should cyclists wear helmets" discourse is such a good one because the arguments for both positions are totally common-sense and unassailable, everyone just digs in.

Sorry to get on the same soapbox again, but this guy sued the city in addition to the driver because the city can pay out the big bucks and the driver can't, and the reason the driver can't is that US insurance minima are too low.

"Waymo has told advocates that expecting it to respect bike lanes is 'too high a bar' because customers expect to be dropped off in them." To be crystal clear, it's illegal for a car to be in a bike lane. It doesn't matter what Waymo's customers expect; the company shouldn't be doing it.
