I always have mixed feelings about these images. Yes, it's inspiring to see these college students committed to democracy, but the fact that they have to do anything remotely difficult to exercise their voting rights is enraging. Taking part in a democracy should be as easy as possible.

That’s about right. Paxton personally, though, also embodies qualities at the heart of Trump’s Republican Party: general lawlessness, financial corruption, overt racism, depraved personal morals and ostentatious religious posturing. Not being able to get away with all that is the end of Trumpism.
