Obama: When I think back to a year ago, I remember talking to some people, who would say, this election doesn't matter all that much. That however the next president ended up being, it wasn't going to matter to them. If nothing else, the last nine months should have cured us of that idea.

I've given my new Senator a lot of shit on here. But I don't think anyone with power has laid out the stakes of what we're facing as clearly as she does right here. And if she's saying this, it's because she feels she must.

Newsom: I cannot wait for all the punditry. Historic victories all across the United States of America. Proposition 50 winning by double digits. A new governor of New Jersey, a new governor in Virginia. I’ll end as I began: thank you for giving a damn.

Obama: "They never miss a chance to scapegoat minorities and blame DEI for every problem under the sun. You got a flat tire? Must be DEI. Your wife kicked you out? DEI. Who knew?"

Held up at gunpoint bc AI told police he had a gun WTF!!! "They made me get on my knees, put my hands behind my back, and cuffed me. They searched me, and they figured out I had nothing. Then, they went over to where I was standing and found a bag of chips on the floor.” -Kenwood student Taki Allen

This is a U.S. citizen being brutally abducted by ICE while his mom pleads for them to stop and the videographer cries for help. The Chicago police do nothing to stop it. They will come for everyone, and they’re not even hiding that anymore. If you are not organizing and resisting yet, get started.

On this date, Matthew Shephard died 27 years ago. He was beaten, tortured, and left for dead on fence for being gay. Please keep him and his wonderful mother Judy in your thoughts. And let's all work for a world where such horrific things do not happen to anyone. ❤️🏳️‍🌈

Overcrowded cells. Unsanitary conditions. Limited access to food and water. These are the conditions that ICE has created at 26 Federal Plaza, which eleven elected officials sought to expose. Instead, they were arrested. They must be released right now — and inspectors let in.

Just now, 11 state and city lawmakers were arrested by DHS police on the 10th floor of 26 Federal Plaza after a hour of demanding access to the ICE lock up on the same floor. @thecity.nyc

As you cancel streaming services, here is a casual reminder that only 16% of Americans read for pleasure anymore, and your local library has hundreds or thousands of books you haven't read. They would love to see you stop by and renew your library card.

Not to continue to do this Cassandra bullshit, but here is a clip from two years ago that outlines exactly the playbook in this moment: a government and private law enforcement army run entirely on grievance, culture war slop, and weaponizable data points, deployed against boogeymen, absent facts.

Jimmy Kimmel wasn't suspended because of what he said. He was suspended because the FCC threatened his employer. That's state-sanctioned censorship and it is a GIANT RED FLAG 🚩🚩🚩 that authoritarianism isn’t *coming* it’s ALREADY HERE. Today it's Jimmy. Tomorrow it's the rest of us.

How did Dr. Monarez go from being “a public health expert with unimpeachable scientific credentials” who had the “full confidence” of Secretary Kennedy into being a “liar” and “untrustworthy” in less than a month? She refused to rubber stamp his anti-vaccine recommendations.

Our democracy is not self-executing. It depends on us all as citizens, regardless of our political affiliations, to stand up and fight for the core values that have made this country the envy of the world.
