The citizen who yelled "Shove that ballroom up your fat ass" is, in this hard time, a patriot. Honestly, what is left to say about this level of misrule? What careful critique hasn't been already offered? What reasoned response to this full-on run at fascism and kleptocracy remained unspoken?

Want to see what a full game of Microscope looks like, from start to finish? This is for you. I raaaarely record games for the public, but I am excited to show off the new edition of Microscope and this was a real treat.

Eric@ericvulgaris.bsky.social

Microscope is a game near and dear to my heart and I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to play the new edition with @lamemage.com himself www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1CL... rss vers: anchor.fm/s/f19dd798/p...

Algebra, numbers, principles of optics, medical encyclopedias, astronomy, hospitals, surgical tools, universities, coffee, lab chemistry--all of Arabic origin. This mfer had a brain worm, collects road kills, sounds like a dial up modem, works out in jeans. This is a uniquely American arrogance.

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

I know there's a lot going on but I feel it should probably be more of an above-the-fold story that members of Congress released a thoroughly documented report directly accusing the president of the United States of being a serial rapist.

RFK talks about autistic and Arabic people the exact same way. He assumes they are not capable of ordinary or extraordinary achievements because of who they are. He considers them sub-human because they are not like him. This makes it plain that his is a white supremacist eugenicist project.

A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...

A better world is possible. But if voting alone could bring it to bare, the forces enriched by the plight of the now would never allow you to do it. Lose? Organise. Win? Organise.

the number of “yes on 42, no on 40” ads I’m seeing here in LA is depressing remember: yes on the billionaire tax (40), no on the ones canceling the billionaire tax (41 and 42)

Anyone insisting on a policy like this has ZERO understanding of gaming as a hobby and culture. Gamers are always creating and that’s what feeds our creativity. To insist on ownership of what people create in their free time suppresses creativity rather than supporting it.

United Wizards of the Coast - CWA@uwotc-official.bsky.social

Currently, Hasbro’s guidelines keep us from having total ownership over the work we make in our free time. Our union aims to change that and ensure we own what we make in our free time. actionnetwork.org/forms/uwotcp...

Anti-trans Democrats are spreading poison when we can least afford it, during elections in this ongoing fascist takeover. As a strategy, it’s a recipe for failure. As a moral stand, it’s reprehensible. PS I’m the father of young trans woman and I’ll never forgive anyone who makes her life harder.

if you ever happen to see someone post a joke you don't understand or discuss a subject you aren't familiar with, you are well within your right to complain, and perhaps even scold them if necessary. you are their customer and you have rights

"2nd Ed." D&D in 1993 was still Advanced D&D for all intents and purposes, FWIW. I would've replied with this vital information, but replies were turned off. What choice did I have?

It bothers me more than it should that Street Fighter (2026) takes place no later than 1993 but includes a diegetic needle drop of the Baha Men's Y2K chart-topper "Who Let the Dogs Out?" But it doesn’t bother you ENOUGH.

Unemployment has run out, and we have yet to get another TV job (though we've come close!). We have savings, but if my work means anything to you, I would really, really, really appreciate you becoming a subscriber. And now you can make me watch your favorite crap!

Episodes@episodesnewsletter.bsky.social

Not an Episodes subscriber yet? No time like the present — especially since new subscribers, from now until November 1, can force our editor-in-chief @emilystjams.bsky.social to watch, quote, "some bullshit." Details here!

Sometimes (frequently) these UB sets really bump up against the limits of Magic's terminology. E.g., this being an "enchantment." It's another one of these cards that gives you a problem to solve (how do I recur it?) and it's a good reference, but the card type is still weird, IMO.

This is literally the end of the rule of law. If a President can pardon people committing crimes on his behalf - and the Supreme Court says he himself can't be prosecuted for crimes committed as part of his job - then the government becomes a lawless entity able to violate our rights without limit.

Think of any try-hard, hype-promoting marketing email you've gotten from an online retailer with which you have only a hazy familiarity, then imagine the weeks of emails back and forth regarding "the campaign" that must have preceded it only for you to -- at best -- scroll through it at Mach 3.

An approximation of my first 5 TTRPGs, in a sort of chronological order but I'm not sure: 1. AD&D (1980, first RPG) ?. Tunnels & Trolls 5th edition ?. Gamma World ?. Top Secret ?. Paranoia 1st edition/GURPS (tie)

Top 5 games I read and made characters for but didn't actually manage to play around this same time period: 1. James Bond 007 2. Traveller 3. Chaosium's Worlds of Wonder (Fantasy World, Future World, Magic World) Okay, Top 3. I didn't really started accumulating games in earnest until later.

Y’know, the “forever gm” meme is kind of annoying. Gming isn’t something I dislike, it is my favorite way to play games. You know what I DO dislike? Being the forever scheduler. The forever planner. The one who’s gotta get the ball rolling every time. I think that’s like half of gm burnout for me
