Yes. But. This is not a Trump problem. It is a Republican problem. They swore for years they wanted dismantle our nation. The are fundamentally debasers. Can’t govern. Don’t want to govern. Are small, base, mean and the true problem. Trump is a symptom. Republicans are the disease.

It gets worse and worse. One page of items newly exempted from tariffs and THREE pages of items with new tariffs slapped on them! What a joke! If you see outlets falling for Susan Collins's stunt -- highlighting the former but ignoring the latter -- please let us know! #MEpolitics

People are claiming that Elon Musk messed with Starlink in Ukraine because Trump asked him. I think a more likely reason is that Ukraine damaging Russian data centers embarrassed Elon by showing how many of his Twitter followers are nonexistent and how much traffic on Twitter is driven by bots.

Anyway this story came out three weeks ago today. Susan Collins and her team have engaged in a lot of hand-waving and false umbrage-taking...but other than a couple weak feints that have since been debunked, they haven't disputed let alone rebutted any of the article's key claims. #MEpolitics

New poll from UNH has us up 6 points in ME-02 (margin of error +/- 3.9%). This race is trending in the right direction, but polls don't win elections, votes do. Chip in and help us keep this momentum going: secure.actblue.com/donate/dunla...

Susan Collins +3% in a new NY Times poll. Fyi it was out in the field entirely or almost entirely before @propublica.org's bombshell story dropped on Tuesday. Every call, every door knock, every text to a friend/relative/former colleague is going to count here, folks! #MEpolitics

Susan Collins campaign with a press conference on the @propublica.org story but the set-up only underscores the problem: The guy talking is the spouse of Collins 2020/2026 finance director who traded e-mails with Kao re: falsifying donor info. Of course he says nothing wrong was done! #MEpolitics

These allegations are a bombshell: the FBI informant claims Collins was in a pay-to-play scheme where donors to her Super-PAC were rewarded with government contracts. Trump stopped the investigation when he came into his office second term. As Collins would say, "concerning"

NEW: In late 2024, FBI investigators had enough evidence to launch a sweeping bribery probe that could ensnare top lawmakers, including Sen. Susan Collins. Then Trump was reelected and eviscerated the FBI and DOJ teams handling public corruption probes.

New outlet, same legacy conceit that frames a 73 year-old woman who's been working in DC since the 1970s as someone without agency over her actions/predicament, at the mercy of dark forces beyond her control. The question isn't 'How much can she take.' It's 'Why won't she DO anything?' #MEpolitics

This is seismic news for fisheries scientists. Northern cod is *the* iconic symbol of total fisheries collapse due to overfishing (and other factors) *and* the iconic symbol of a complete failure to recover for decades afterwards. This is like announcing the complete recovery of bison on land.

This is the first honest pro-Susan Collins letter we've seen in months -- which may mean it's the first one not coordinated with Collins's campaign: Vote for Collins, the writer argues, so that the 'undeserving' don't get health care. Sounds about right. #MEpolitics

I looked it up and there's actually no rule that says @pressherald.com has to run a column by a health care lobbyist trying to trick readers into thinking Susan Collins has been great for Maine hospitals. But they do it anyway because they have a thoroughly distorted view of their role. #MEpolitics

Natalie Harp's letters have the same manic joylessness and obsessive fixation that I found in QAnon social media. The messianic fawning over Trump, the neglecting of basic bodily needs, the self-flagellating belief that they'll never be good enough. They're all signs of a deeply unwell person.
