This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

I love those mornings when the coffee just hits better. Don't get me wrong, coffee is always good. But there are some mornings when I just clutch my mug a little tighter and breathe those delightful caffeinated vapors more deeply, wishing it didn't have to end.

Curious where that whole "Republican State's Rights Mantra" went.

There's a lot going on, God knows, but don't miss that the President of the United States is using the full force of the Federal government, as well as tax dollars, to punish a state because its Governor... refused to do as he instructed. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/02/u...

ATTN FEDERAL WORKERS: It has come to my attention that several agencies are now offering WiFi for you to use with your PERSONAL devices. If I were you, I would NOT use that WiFi. I suspect it's a way for DOGE to monitor your personal communications.

I have a dream... That someday a Scotus decision smacks Trump down so hard, he throws a flailing toilet tantrum that causes his heart to finally give out. And he keels over while accidentally tweeting his final pathetic moments to be made into a million celebratory memes. And the world rejoices.

This is my piece of shit senator proving how big a piece of shit he is. Not a toilet big enough to flush this turd. But Hoosiers love him. Must think that much shit will help fertilize all the corn.

This is a United States Senator MACK: I was laid off from HHS and now people aren’t getting social services, especially people with disabilities BANKS: You probably deserved it MACK: Why did I deserve it? BANKS: Because you look like a clown

Things Democratic Senators could do that would be useful: - Withdraw unanimous consent from all Senate business until constitutional rule was restored - Refuse to vote for any legislation until constitutional rule was restored - Boycott as a caucus until constitutional rule was restored

A very old Soviet joke, from an especially dark time: Foxes are fleeing the USSR in droves. Q: Why are you running away? Fox: The Soviets passed a new law that they’re going to arrest all camels. Q: But you’re foxes! Fox: Yeah, why don’t *you* try proving to the NKVD that you’re not a camel.

If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

This is the part not being discussed enough. This should be the thread Democrats latch onto and tug. Why are Republicans using apps to hide their communications from government retention? If DoD is doing it, how do we know other depts aren't. What are they hiding. What laws are they breaking?

As I explain here, security isn't even the biggest part of the Signal Scandal. This is to keep actions secret from the US government. It's how to do crimes, bribes and more. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/signa...

Imagine customs going through the devices of Olympic athletes and refusing entry based on social media critical of Trump or one of his stupid decisions. Why should the committee even consider continuing this farce?

George Takei@georgetakei.bsky.social

Would anyone blame them if they said “hell no” to that?

This explains what I've been trying to explain in limited posts. Schumer's lack of an early plan to rally the party around backed us into a corner. His choice to wait until Rs damaged themselves instead of fighting ourselves left us with no option and zero messaging. We need new leadership.

Schumer Didn’t Know the Can of Whoop-Ass He Was Opening talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/schum...

Thank you. Seriously the number of people who attack and say calling out bad Dems is tearing apart the party and we need to support all Dems. Sorry but mindless fealty is what Magats do. I expect more from my party. And the only way you get better Dems is to push for them.

Christopher Webb@cwebbonline.com

A word… We can be good Democrats and still demand better from the party. In fact, that’s what being a good Democrat is—fighting for its future, pushing for stronger leadership, and calling out those who are failing us. 🧵

Whether or not Trump has the authority to deport people based on the AEA still doesn't answer my main issues with it They weren't deported. They were imprisoned in a foreign labor camp prison without due process or charges. When does that illegal aspect get challenged?

Conspiracy level theory here. In this fucked up reality does it seem the slightest bit implausible that Musk wants to confiscate the Chinese EV company's new battery tech militarily. He's on a douchebag high already. It certainly isn't in the realm of impossibilities.

Not only did Tesla use glue for the outer panels of their Cyber Truck, but they didn't even bother to make sure they used one that could hold up to environmental conditions. How the hell is the stock holding above 230 for a company that sells poorly glued together cars?

I keep seeing posts stating that we must support all Dems no matter what. Bullshit! I must support people willing to fight Trump's agenda no matter what. I don't care if they have 2 Zs and the prince symbol next to name. Otherwise we end up with Manchins and Sinemas who roll over for the enemy.

Exactly what I expected from the lack of due process before deportation. Innocent people sent away to forced labor camps on a whim. How are we overreacting when we compare this shit to Nazis.

Aaron Reichlin-Melnick@reichlinmelnick.bsky.social

NEW! Sworn declarations filed last night confirm the Trump admin sent INNOCENT people to rot in prison El Salvador, including a professional soccer player jailed and tortured by the Maduro regime, who entered this country LEGALLY to seek asylum, and who has NO CRIMINAL RECORD in either country.

You want the opposition to sit on their hands and let it happen. Then claim to be the answer. Dude! Fight now, and when things go to hell anyway, you can say See this is what we were trying to stop. Dems were fighting for everyone the whole time. But nah let's just watch people suffer for a bit.

Oh, he's trying to execute the laws alright. He wants every law that might rein in his power drawn and quartered before the stunned judiciary and executed for all to see.

Judge Luttig@judgeluttig.bsky.social

The Take Care Clause in Article II of the Constitution requires that the President “shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed.”

Dreaming of a world where Biden kept his promise of being a transition candidate, stepped down at the end of first term, and opened the Dem primary to the next generation of candidates. It's ridiculous, I know. But imagine a world where people like Biden and RBG gave up power for the greater good.

Good Lord how many whiny centrist (conservative) Democrats ran to USA Today to post opinion pieces praising Schumer's capitulation and blaming the party's low approval ratings on those evil liberals. 3 opinion pieces so far. Oh yeah and apparently Rahm Emanuel is our moderate savior for 2028. 🤢🤮

Next up, all WH officials have to consent to neuralink implants. That way the Kremlin can simply upload new instructions instead of wasting time explaining them to their useful idiot president. All part of Musk making government more efficient.
