Losing one of the original Star Trek cast is a bit like losing one of the Beatles. So much of our identity is wrapped up in the work they did, and the world feels lesser without them.

Big fan of this game and have put many many many hours into trudging around in the virtual Canadian wilderness.

The Long Dark is currently 66% off on Steam, so I'll re-up my recommendation of it as a truly unique experience. No other game gives you the feeling of being alone in the Canadian wilderness, with the elements as your greatest foe. It's incredibly immersive, atmospheric and offers tons of depth.

My cynical opinion is that an actor, who is genuinely interested in developing their skills and career while trying to work with a variety of different filmmakers, then signing on to a streaming service for a video game based TV show for an indeterminate amount of time, is a terrible idea

Part of the reason a lot of super rich people are so awful is that when normal people get an absurd amount of money, they immediately start looking around for who they can help.

Good for Inde Navarette I guess. It does feel like they're are two distinct career paths after Obsession, and getting shackled to the Marvel verse is the least interesting of the two

What was this movie about? Why does it exist? Cut it apart and reassemble it and you have the same movie. Celebrity actors drifting in and out looking wistful while Matt Damon jumps onto a beach then turns around and runs back again.

All of you dweebs who've been quoting criticism of that article should take note

For the record, this Emily Wilson Odyssey review furor is ridiculous, and largely fueled by algorithms designed to work us up over practically nothing. She wrote a very interesting review from her perspective and I personally enjoyed it. Now, it feels like people want her arrested for a crime.

A gorgeous movie; if you haven't seen it I highly recommend digging it out.

RIP Sam Neill. My favourite role of his is The Dish. Probably the greatest radio telescope movie. And some of the best pipe and cardigan combo acting ever captured on film.

id is one of the most important game developers of all time. They have consistently released the best games on the business for over 30 years. An absolutely incredible legacy that has influenced an entire generation of developers. And this is how Microsoft/Xbox treats them.

Good Lord 'Obsession' is incredible! Absolutely delivers on its reputation. I can't remember the last film I saw that has such a visceral reaction from the audience. Ten out of ten!

Inde Navarrette comfortably sitting alongside Toni Collette in the 'actors who give award worthy performances which will be completely ignored by the Academy because it's a horror film' club.

Really not sure about Disclosure Day. Steven Spielberg films are always so comfortable in their flow that you're always happy to go along with them, I just have a bit of 'is that it?' feeling after coming to the end.

The more time that passes, the less I like Furiosa (and I didn't love it when it came out). I just don't know why he didn't make another Tom Hardy led film with new characters/story/setting etc. I doubt we'll actually see another film, and Hardy certainly won't be back.

George Miller is looking to develop a final โ€˜MAD MAXโ€™ movie and a TV series. Amazon, Universal and Sony are interested in acquiring the rights. (Source: puck.news/newsletter_c...)

'Hi, were are doing a delivery to your house today between 9 and 5. No we can't tell you when exactly, but we can guarantee that it will be in the ten minutes that you have to run out. Oh no sorry we can't come back later today we will have to reschedule to a week's time. Thanks'

I am so irrationally angry about this. I've eaten pronutro my whole life as a cereal. Only for some scumbag American company to buy them out and immediately change the recipe to whatever this garbage is now.

everyone should follow and support RS Benedict cause they are cool as hell. They wrote Everybody is Beautiful but No One is Horny and you all reference it a thousand times a day here and the way SFF treated them has been atrocious.

# 3--that most critics are also novelists & writing a negative review can fuck your career--is very true. I called a Scalzi book 'derivative' on a podcast some years ago and effectively got permanently banned from sci-fi fantasy publishing. Fun! belowthefray.substack.com/p/are-book-r...
