My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

Unacceptable. Meta took down the No Kings Instagram today and kept it offline for well over an hour. Censoring free speech to appease Donald Trump? We the people deserve answers, but regardless, we will not be silenced.

A wild thing about Harris is that he credits his father for teaching him about the horrors of socialism. His father spent time in a Soviet POW camp. In 1944. Remind me, who were the Soviets fighting in 1944?

They found the time to chainsaw 500 trees with less than a day's notice, but the Epstein files are nowhere to be found. Nothing says love of country like clear-cutting the capital before anyone can stop you.

Do you know how hard it is to lose the war if you're the United States? It's about as unlikely as bankrupting a casino.

Chris Murphy: "Donald Trump was so fundamentally unprepared for this war that within days of the war starting, our billion dollar air bases and naval bases in the region were obliterated by the Iranians. Every single American should be furious about that."

...Federal marshals subsequently orchestrated the transfer of all 287 bars to local police. In a secret operation, officers guarded the 282 bars before returning them to the CIA. The agency promises that the 271 gold bars stolen by Mr Rush will be sold and the profits used to reimburse US taxpayers.

So well-deserved. I've been saying Deisseroth and others should win the Nobel for optogenetics since I learned about it in grad school. It seemed like a powerful, field-transforming technique then, and its usefulness has only expanded. Glad to see Nagel and Hagerman recognized as well.

It is really critical that we came together, and our motto is courage is strength, courage is contagious, and there is strength in numbers. I have internalized these sayings because they are really true.

Because we have a community, we can each do things that fit our risk tolerance and our values. We also can challenge one another. We have had disagreements and internal conversations about best strategies. We learned so much from each other. I am just so grateful that we have this community.

Without my group of comrades, we wouldn’t have survived emotionally, none of us. I really mean it, both in terms of the soul-crushing nature of being inside and the desire to let the world know what is happening to raise awareness.

I think just getting by day-to-day and getting our voices heard would have been impossible. I also learned that an authoritarian government intends to isolate people. There is a lot of work built into stopping you from connecting and forming dialogues and engaging in difficult conversations.

This is an entirely new phenomenon because before the vaccine, most women who survived measles were immune because they had it when they were young. But now, idiots who refuse to get vaccinated are giving birth to babies with measles. Two babies have died. www.nbcnews.com/health/healt...

nbcnews.comAmerica had wiped out measles. Now babies are infected at birth.Congenital measles has rarely been seen in the U.S. That’s changing as vaccination declines and more pregnant women become infected.

AI companies: This technology we’re developing is dangerous and might destroy humanity and we don’t know how to stop it Other people: So we should strictly regulate it, create legislative guard rails, and monitor its development? AI companies: lol no the opposite of all that & give us more money

Stella Parton on her sister, Dolly: "What the world saw is exactly who she was, so much so, she told me recently that if there was no hope for her, she would still allow her medical team to try experimental drugs in the hope of helping others in the future." Absolute legend.

Everyone who volunteers for clinical trials is a legend. It's a major risk and very scary but it is how we get new cures. Dolly Parton contributed financially to medical research but her willingness to contribute her body as well really speaks to her generosity of spirit.
