Playing this and a 8bit version of Where in the World is Carmen San Diego starts playing. I am hooked.

This feels like a game this app would like. lockout2027.com @jasoncollette.bsky.social @mikegianella.bsky.social @razzball.bsky.social @myohwhy.bsky.social

Would need to look, but I would guess there is an increasing number of presidents with Science/Medical/Research or Business backgrounds rather than pure academic types. They see the P&L as their mission, not learning outcomes.

Matt Gabriele@profgabriele.com

It’s increasingly clear that higher admins at many universities don’t respect (maybe don’t even like) the mission of higher education generally

As always... Elie is correct.

Pet Peeve: Amy Coney Barrett keeps referring to the sports website at issue (247sports) as "two four seven sports" while I strongly feel it should be called "twenty four seven sports." If I were on the court I'd issue a final ruling *on that*... (in my dissent, as it looks like I'd be losing)

Journalistic issue here... there's no need for someone to define socialism "personally". It's a bad question from the jump.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Q: How do you define socialism personally? JD VANCE: I think in reality what it actually means in the American context is you want to replace American workers with foreigners workers, and you want boys to play in girls' sports

Multiple huge bluesky and former Twitter "liberals" absolutely misquoting and people resharing without a shred of self inspection. Dreadful.

Allison Gill@muellershewrote.com

An American president is encouraging an enemy to destroy American cities. This is treason, though he will claim we are not at war.

Entered this contest to win a podcast series on iHeartRadio. Looks like you need to 'verify' yourself via a FB app, so absolutely understand if you don't want to vote but I'm in a 'you only live once mode' & figure this is worth pursuing as far as I can. Share if u can tophost.org/2026/dan-str...

tophost.orgIs Dan Strafford the Top Host? Will Dan Strafford be a guest on an episode of On Air with Ryan Seacrest, win $25,000, and lead a podcast produced by iHeartRadio?

This is batshit nuts.

Earlier this week, I agreed to interviews with two USA Today journalists. They wrote fantastic articles about the Cornell case that I'm proud to have been a part of. What I did not know is that their employer considers interviews to proprietary and opens up recordings to be used by any journalist.

Here's Laura Rutledge explaining that the secret service will not interfere with the radio communications at this game immediately followed by the broadcast audio going to hell

This is good journalism but also... No shit! Its the way DK and FD operates DFS long before they got into "typical" gambling. You spend lots of money (and lose) you are a VIP Spend lots of money (and win) you're a VIP whose bets are capped.

ProPublica@propublica.org

Hey, ProPublica reporter Jake Pearson here. I’m taking over the account to tell you about my new story. For months, I posed as a problem gambler on DraftKings to test the company's "responsible gaming" safeguards. Spoiler alert: They made me a VIP — and I lost $10K. Here's how it all went down. 🧵

One of my favorite stories about my eldest. Walked in from getting her at preschool. She started to step on heels of shoes to take them off. "Darling, that's how you break your shoe. Please take them off the right way" She looks me dead in the eye, then points to me doing that exact thing.

my kid throws these deeply lawyerly arguments at me sometimes that make me both livid and proud. i hate/love it.

Definitely ran through an AI to merge a few photos together... at the very least. Noticed in the 'social post' the Chinese flag isn't visible on the plane either

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

So this story is WAY wilder than I thought The Trump post I flagged this morning because it includes Natalie Harp is actually based on the Getty photo you can see below. But there is one key difference -- MONICA CROWLEY'S FACE HAS BEEN EDITED TO LOOK LIKE NATALIE HARP'S WTF is going on here?

Justin Baragona@justinbaragona.bsky.social

Welp. According to Semafor, David Ellison has discussed bringing Elon Musk on as an investor in Paramount's merger with Warner Bros., which could mean Musk could have a stake in CBS News and CNN. www.semafor.com/article/09/2...

Said this when they started this... they were always going to turn to the border crossing as THE illegal activity, and thus they had a record. Was so easy to see.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

BASH: In July, 50% of 50k people detained by DHS had no criminal record. You're comfortable w/that? MULLIN: That's not true. Every one of those criminals broke our laws when they crossed our border illegally B: But beyond that MULLIN: What level of criminal activity are you willing to accept?

Man, Matthew Rhys has been busy.

‘People built the test, removed restraints, defined the objective, left a route open and decided not to stop what was happening. Calling the result “rogue AI” does more than sensationalize it. It allows those human decisions to disappear quietly from the story.’ www.wsj.com/opinion/the-...

I was at this game. Absolutely crazy atmosphere in so many ways. The security outside was so insane that I happened to walk out of an upper deck tunnel as he was getting to the mound.

The A's just did one of the coolest things I've seen in their broadcast: Just unfiltered audio of the live director calling a Lawrence Butler plate appearance...that went about as well as they could have hoped for.
