Run your own mail server, the said. It will be fun, they said (no one actually said that, on the contrary). πŸ˜‚ I did a live upgrade with full migration of stalw.art and everything survived and works. 😏

You know what means? It means that soon-ish, I will get to use the #keychron launcher with my main browser. 🧑

It is kind of funny in a way, that #linux had to become a serious platform to play games on first, for it to become mainstream. It is also a little sad.

I may have done it again ... maybe I bought a #pebble round 2 last night. To my defence. It was late, I was tired and it looks really cool and I wanted it #latenightshopping

Changing your email address in all the services you are signed up for sucks but it sucks less knowing that it is my own email address, hosted on my own email server. 😏 #selfhosting #email #stalwart

#firefox has always been the browser of my heart 🫢🦊

Firefox has been moving fast lately. Many of the bug reports I'm following have been fixed. And 151 will finally support CSS container style queries. Firefox already has the fastest CSS engine of the big three. If it catches up on features too, it might become the best browser.

I think if you're saying "atproto doesn't need a ____" then you're missing the point. Let people build the things they want to see in the ecosystem that they, themselves, will use. We don't need ten things shaped the exact same way, we need every type of shape.

So, Chrome's "web standard" Prompt API: Mozilla: Opposed WebKit: Opposed Microsoft: Several concerns W3C TAG: Several concerns Developers: Mostly negative Chrome: Ships anyway. A sad time for web standards. But, I guess someone at Google will get promoted, so 'every cloud…'

Let me tell you something. It it is a lot of work to run your own infrastructure, especially email infrastructure ... but damn, does it feel good. 🀩 #self-hosting #personal-digitality #digital-sovereignty

Finally finished moving my professional profile to @sifa.id! Love that place. Besides, the more services I begin to populate in the #atmosphere, the more @danabra.mov's analogy makes sense. It truly does feel like I am decorating my home with more furniture ...

I read a post from someone suggesting @tangled.org should add GitHub OAuth support because all have it for example GitLab. Now hear me out on this. While he misses the point on #atproto, it is not a bad idea. You can make it even easier for #GitHub users to leave the sinking ship and onboard them. 😏

We launched Zed 1.0 this week! πŸŽ‰πŸŽŠπŸ₯³ As per usual with a new version, we shipped goodies: Stop using breakpoints as makeshift bookmarks... because bookmarks are here! πŸ”– Right click on the gutter to add a bookmark and see them all with `editor: view bookmarks`. Thanks austincummings!

… are fucking kidding me. A github.com cross-account RCE due to the most pedestrian of injection attacks along the obvious exposed surface… and they actually have a globally shared β€œgit” UNIX user!! This is not what taking the role of supply chain stewards seriously looks like.

A bit over two years after starting to work on it... Go is officially FIPS 140-3 certified πŸ’₯ csrc.nist.gov/projects/cry... I am pretty confident Go is now one of the mostβ€”if not the mostβ€”seamless and complete FIPS 140-3 compliance solutions... with a single env var, out of the box.

It's April 2026, 1 year 8 months since FIPS 204. The IETF TLS WG is busy debating the concept of ML-DSA hybrids, and whether they should be composite, concatenated, or separate. The complexity of hybrid auth is, however, firmly denied. In the distance, sounds of a pure ML-DSA PKI being built.

There are no technical or compliance reasons to double the size of symmetric keys in response to the threat of quantum computers. This common misunderstanding of Grover's algorithm risks wasting limited resources that should go towards deploying actually urgent post-quantum algorithms.

words.filippo.ioQuantum Computers Are Not a Threat to 128-bit Symmetric KeysThere is no need to update symmetric key sizes as part of the post-quantum transition, due to the details of how Grover's algorithm scales. Most authorities agree.
