My pitch for Carrie Season 2 Time jump, 32 years later. Done with being a user, a boozer, and a loser (she stoled the tv) Carrie is picking her life exactly where she left off. She's back at school, living at home, and learning that even though the faces are different the problems are just the same

This is why I don't care about people being on Twitter. Every social media platform is owned by cryptofascist sex predators who use their ad revenue to make the work worse, including BlueSky.

Meta took down the No Kings instagram; TikTok banned the Musk documentary account for supposedly violating its political posting policies. A reminder that platforms are owned by the wealthiest of people, control the means of media distribution, & put their thumbs on the democracy scale as they wish

All the major sites barely moderated at all pre-2014, regressed in 2022, and just did a half-assed job in between.

Every time we do "Twitter is bad now" discourse (which is like weekly), I have to think you're all just romanticizing what it was like before too. I had people photoshopping my face into a gas chamber in like 2020. It's WORSE now. It wasn't good before.

Paul Schrader didn't have a ton of success as an interior decorator, but he got by.

it’s forbidden content but i have watched this video of the AI songs a man made for his mistress after murdering his wife being played in court maybe 20 times today. It is one of the most compelling things i have ever seen

Imagine a world where this albums does great instead of flopping and Weezer commits to making good music instead of most of their 21st century output.

‘Pinkerton’ came out 30 years ago today. 💿 What’s your favorite track?

Poor oversight of our food and pharmaceutical industries was a liberal-left cause for decades but Democrats didn't want to take it seriously. Right-wing influencers saw a niche not being met and then took it for themselves.

I like AOC, but this is an incredibly bad analysis of the MAHA movement.

I wish Motzart had lived until his 40's or 50's so they could've justified casting Tim Curry in the film adaptation of Amadeus (He starred in the stage production but was considered too old for the role on film the lesson here being don't smoke)

The U.S. government’s “war on drugs” sought to reduce substance abuse by driving up prices and lowering demand. Today, street drugs are less expensive and more dangerous than ever. Here’s why.

Watching an old episode of Unsolved Mysteries with a segment that opens "As a young girl Jackie found herself inexplicably drawn to tv shows and movies about women's prisons" and I feel like I've already solved one mystery.
