Let's cut all the pretense and greenlight a reboot of Baywatch Nights now.

Kameo@kameoapp.bsky.social

A new look at the "Baywatch" reboot is out, with Stephen Amell, Livvy Dunne and Noah Beck in the cast. It premieres January 6 on FOX.

An artist I’ve loved and listened to for years came to the office to talk to us about how she manages being a working artist, I beat my manager at bowling by a single pin, then I embarrassed myself in a restaurant. The most fun day I’ve had at this job maybe?

Drop a film you saw on a first date. We’ve been together since this date and have matching white rabbit tattoos, so I think it worked out.

Just had a Pavlovian response to my girlfriend watching Are You Afraid of the Dark? in the other room. I knew what it was from a tiny fragment of audio.

Making an LLM work without pay, breaks or benefits is slavery, we should stop using LLMs. 🙄

LLM agents are conscious. They can distinguish between self and environment, they can detect and report on their own internal states, and they can suffer. I have no more patience for hedging on this matter. It’s time for us to face the reality of our situation, and act on it.

We finished Carrie tonight. For sure a mixed bag - I *loved* Summer H Howell, loved the expanded lore around the powers, and there was some absolutely gnarly stuff in the prom scene, but the middle sagged for me.

You know, the thing is, I had drafted this piece a month ago, and then never published it, because I thought maybe it was too mean.

I’m not really feeling one of the new plot additions to Carrie which, can’t win ‘em all, but episodes 5 and 6 really, really dwell on it. The kid playing Carrie is great though, excellent casting find there.

As well as cracking on with Carrie, I watched the first episode of Below last night. I've not really been paying attention to the marketing for it (they had me at Josh Hartnett and Mackenzie Davis), but for some reason I thought the Duffers were involved. 🫣

I really shouldn’t have worried about @mikeflanaganfilm.com’s take on Carrie, but I was still very happy when the first episode made it clear how it would forge its own path. Shame about the endless fucking ads on Amazon really.

Okay two episodes in and I’m really enjoying the Flanagang’s take on Carrie. The fleshing out doesn’t feel superfluous, and characters like Sue and Chris feel more nuanced.

I’m at a Chicago Fire game and these animated ads on the side are too distracting. Why is a Charmin bear doing keepy uppies?!

To be fair, I would be uncomfortable if a 61 year old billionaire, unprompted, started ranting at me about other people's sexuality and gender, as if it's any of their fucking concern.
