I've revised my bio, but don't have a pinned post, so here we go. Nostalgic child of the '80s specifically into Atari 2600, Atari Force, the Funny Music Project (FuMP), the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Pac-Man Fever, Rom the Spaceknight, Star Trek, Star Wars, theater organ, Weird Al, and more.

#MazeMonday is about #PacMan! My family found Pac-Man GFuel energy drinks at Dollar Tree last week, so I had them pick up a couple cans. Pac-Man-related energy drinks seem to be the only ones I ever drink. Which is probably a good thing.

If there were any justice in the world, every day would be #WorldWombatDay, but today is the official day to celebrate these glorious creatures that crush their enemies with their buttocks, dig burrows tens of metres long, constantly regrow their teeth, have babies called wombatlets, and poop cubes.

It’s #StarWarsSunday! From the price tag, I'm guessing I asked my grandmother to buy this Yoda paint-by-numbers set for me. And judging from how far I got, I didn't find it very exciting. I recently rediscovered it in my parents' basement. I'd forgotten all about it.

Because at age 5 in 1977, seeing #StarWars on the big screen was a religious experience: It’s #StarWarsSunday! Share something Star Wars—toy, book, scene, character—from any era! This is a positive space it’s all good! This week: the Kenner open belly Tauntaun! With bonus Luke in Hoth gear!

It turns out just because you like two foods, it doesn't mean they should be combined.

Rosa became the second most revered Disney duck writer/artist after Barks, so I learned his name, even though he was creating stories (I wasn't reading) while I was an adult. When I saw the collection up at the top for so cheap a price, I figured it would be worth it. 6/

I never expected to make such a close connection to my childhood comics reading the Rosa collection . Here's the bits of the story Barks wrote that Rosa retconned a beginning to decades later. Amazing! 7/7

Even though I stopped reading Disney comics once I started reading superheroes as a teen, I couldn't help but eventually learn Barks' name just from being in the sphere of comic fandom. 4/

But there was no Internet back then, so I had no way of knowing who created those Disney comics I read and reread throughout my childhood. Later I learned of Don Rosa. He was a huge fan of Barks and got the job of creating Uncle Scrooge comics. He built on the legacy Barks built. #DonRosa 5/

A couple weeks ago, I found that 1975 comic in my parents' basement! I thought it had been taken out by a basement flood. It reprints an Uncle Scrooge story from a decade earlier by Carl Barks, "the Good Duck Artist." #CarlBarks 2/

Disney comic books were uncredited back then. Not that it mattered, because as a child I wouldn't have read the credits. But comic fans from the generation before me noticed Barks' stories because they were well drawn and written. Eventually his name became known to fans. 3/

#VintageToyTuesday Hot Wheels Streex. This short-lived Hot Wheels* line came out when I was in college. They intrigued me enough to buy. Then I just never got rid of them. *Ironic, since they don't have wheels.

This arrived yesterday from an eBay seller. A version of the "Pac-Man Fever" 45 from the U.K. in a picture sleeve. I'VE NEVER SEEN THIS SLEEVE BEFORE. As far as Google and Discogs are concerned, THIS DOESN'T EXIST! If you can prove otherwise, please do.

The record seems identical to one version of the non-picture sleeve one (minus the "promo only" text). The back of the sleeve duplicates text (and borrows art from) from the Atari 2600 Pac-Man instruction book. 🤔❓

I shared Skittles Shriekers with friends last night, where some are supposed to be randomly really sour. Either they're not particularly sour or our bag was a complete dud, because only one of us thought he *may* have gotten a shrieker.

I was not *collecting* comics in 1979. I started in 1981 with Star Wars and Rom, so I had to buy Rom #1 as a back issue. I paid $5, which seemed like a lot back then. That issue is now worn, but signed by EIC Jim Shooter and cover inker Joe Rubinstein. Happy comic birthday, Rom!

Incredible. First Secretary Mullin claimed that DHS had identified 15,903 noncitizens on Nevada’s voter roll. Then DHS officials told a skeptical Nevada, no no no, that’s just people we flagged. Here are the names of 185 people we KNOW aren’t citizens. All 185 were citizens. DHS got 100% wrong.
