I don't think I can add much to the conversation about how influential John Blanche's art is, people much better at writing than me are doing a fine job of that.
What I can do is talk about how inspiring he was in other ways, namely his bottomless and unquenchable curiosity.
Turns out he'd met the producer as well as several others I was currently listening to. He'd even done some album art for some of them in the past.
He was always curious to find new inspiration, even in his later years.
I guess that is why he was so inspiring himself.
Modern society does its best to knock the curiosity out of us, to algorithmically narrow our interests into neatly organised boxes.
John taught us to defy the ordinary, to seek interesting new experiences and ways of thinking. That life is best lived when we remove the limitations of expectation.

A lot of people probably don't know about his love of music, to look at him you might think he was only into classic rock or hair metal or something, but he was breathtakingly current with his tastes.
I'll never forget one day that I was working at my desk listening to a very underground Berlin techno album that had just released that week. I felt a tap on my shoulder and turned around to see Johns beaming face
"That's such a good album, isn't it?"
I was shocked.
Incredibly sad news about John Blanche. He was a genuine visionary, a lovely person and was a huge inspiration for me, I feel fortunate to have known him.
He will be greatly missed.

Is it weird to think about including some of my tattoos into the paintjob of the Knight, as part of it's heraldry and livery?
Ah, who cares!
*happy warhorn noises*

Proud to announce that I worked on the new Knight Destrier as part of the Warhammer Design Studio.
I can't wait to see what all you talented hobbyists do with the kit, I hope you enjoy the new posing and customising potential.
(Please post pics if you paint one!)
"quarter of the typical energy bill in 2024 was profit. That is equivalent to every household paying Β£416 a year so other people can grow rich. The water industry tells a similar story. Almost a third of the average bill goes towards funding shareholder dividends and interest payments."
It's incredibly hard to style a single celebrity in a way that is original, forward thinking and creative. But to do it individually for every member of a seven person group is crazy!

Silksong is just sublime. I'm glad I played HK recently because I can see every improvement. The extra parallax layers in the background, the little animation touches, the reactivity between the environment and the player/enemies/NPCs.
Hollow Knight was a 10/10 game for me and somehow this is better
I did it!
In anticipation of Silksong I have replayed the whole of Hollow Knight and finally defeated the "Path of Pain" πͺ
(I couldn't beat it on my original play through)
