Coming back to Blue sky was a mistake. I am sick and tired of this civil war on the left. Fuck everybody. People are going to die, and y'all are shitting on each other to hide your own fucking fears. Trump is the enemy, but he's not on Blue sky, and tankies have to hate somebody.

Hey. This should go without saying, but I guess I got to say it: if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. If you have the opportunity to derail the train before it hits somebody, and you don't, you're part of the problem.

Then I'm a useless moron. In America, voting for president is a zero-sum game. If you don't understand that, that's okay. It hurts. It sucks. Life is hard, and not everybody understands basic game theory. Some people admire their reflection too much.

I just want to officially state for the record that my actual politics bear no pragmatic difference with @aoc.bsky.social. I If you think that makes me a liberal, you're right. If you think that makes me a leftist, you're right. If you think I can't be both, you're not interested in solutions.

Hey. Today I learned that I am still not okay. I am still not over the trauma of losing this election. I am still not over the fear of what is to come. If you're on a far left, I don't want to hear about your purity. If you're in the center, I don't want to hear about your transphobia.

My favorite album from every decade back to 1960s: 1960s: Blonde on Blonde 1970s: Dark Side of the Moon 1980s: Born in the USA 1990s: Little Earthquakes 2000s: Vs. Children 2010s: Stranger in the Alps 2020s: Fetch the Bolt Cutters Darn it. I thought my tastes were less mainstream than that.

In a capitalist society, we pretend that slavery is working without pay, but that isn't what slavery is at all. That definition is easily skirted by paying people $10 a day. Orlando Patterson defines slavery as general dishonor, natal isolation, and social death. Prison checks all three boxes.

Your post is correct except that they wouldn't be "slave" firefighters if they weren't "incarcerated". CA attempts to rehab & reduce the recidivism rate of it's incarcerated population by teaching them marketable skills for use once they're released. Also, they're paid, so slaves they are not.

This quote repost is not meant as an attack, it is meant to point out how easy it is to trick ourselves. It is easy for us to become a seduced by the story, seduced by capitalism, seduced by communism, seduced by the lie. We have to see through the stories and see the people behind them.

If you honestly think that blue states should abandon red states, or joke that they should join Canada, imagine if Lincoln took that approach. Imagine how much worse Jesus Land would be if it was the CFA. Stand for marginalized people in all parts of the USA, and throughout the world.

There is no God. There is also no dollar. There is no America. There is no law. All of these concepts are fictions. None of them require existence to be powerful. All of them affect you and me. The atheist is not wise, because when they reject God, they ignore all the other fictions.

New atheist are the worst at this. They define religion as belief in God, then they attack anything which even looks remotely like it, attacking culture mercilessly, all without realizing that money, racism, and xenophobia kill more people than gods do.

Culture is critical and important and valuable and should be protected. Culture should never, however, be considered more important than people. The moment the culture becomes more important than people, that's the moment the culture becomes bigotry. Borders are bigotry.

I judge federman on his record, and as of today, his record is white supremacy. Anyone who voted for the unlawful violation of immigrants rights bill that passed today is f****** scum. Anyone who cheers anyone who voted for today's bill is f****** scum.

A lot of people will criticize @johnfetterman.com for visiting trump. Don't. Imo, the best way to win voters is to do all you can to represent your constituents first. Your party last. Voters want results. If he can use Trump to get that. Amen.

Slavery is always wrong. Orlando Patterson defines slavery as general dishonor, natal isolation, and social death. Prison checks all three boxes. This is not a great program for incarcerated people looking to respond themselves. This is slavery. This is wrong.

The number of people who act like my husband is a saint for keeping me around is amazingly high. It’s always a shock to people that even though I manage maybe a chore a week, I still add value to his life in the form of love and happiness and a shitload of emotional labor.

If you find yourself yelling at LAT reporters for the crime of linking to the paper's stories about a life-critical local news event (rather than instantly getting hired elsewhere in the time since a few big leadership decisions that they had no control over), you have completely lost the plot.

Compassion is usually the American way: When there's a disaster—a hurricane, flood, earthquake, shooting—our first reaction tends to be sympathy, prayer, and outpourings of help. The cackling schadenfreude from Trump and his supporters over the California fires is fucking ghoulish—and un-American.

Money, law, nations, and all of culture are just stories. They are no more real than Santa Clause. The point of these stories is to improve our lives. If the stories do not improve our lives, we need to change the stories. Capitalism and communism are fictions, but people are real.

If you follow me, I'm not sure why you do, but if you do, and you are more interested in punishing Harris then helping the people of Gaza, you can rightly go fuck yourself. Trump's victory is a defeat for the people of Gaza. More of them will die as a result. More of us will die as a result.

I’m supposed to have this tribal hatred of Liz Cheney despite her sacrificing her career to fight the one threat I care most about. And I’m supposed to have this tribal loyalty to leftists who continually refusal to do the absolute bare minimum and support a liberal Dem against that threat. Nah.

We don't talk enough about how nearly-impossible it is to hold down a full-time job as an Autistic. You mean I have to go to work every weekday, regardless of how stable I feel? You mean I have to be ready, capable, and able for 8 straight hours? It feels so hard. All the time.

I can't wait to get a job changing "Gulf of Mexico" to "Gulf of America" in all books, records, and maps going back 500 years because it will always have been "Gulf of America" after Trump declares it to be so.

So, if we invade Greenland, or Canada, does article 5 of the NATO Treaty apply? If so, then America would be constitutionally mandated, by law, to declare war against itself. Or rather, all of our allies would suddenly become our enemies.

Mr. Wasserman, there's nothing I can do to offer help, so I will offer what you offer so many who are suffering, my thoughts, and my prayers. I'm sorry about your home, but the reputation loss, you brought that on yourself, and the gods do not have mercy on the proud.

“Will pay any amount.” Feels like one of those futile pleas we’re going to hear from wealthy people more and more in the era of climate change.
