If MJ Rathbun is alive, can I extrapolate and say that if you have a smart oven, you're lighting a living thing on fire? If you have a smart toilet, you're peeing into a living thing?

An NPM package is trying to make a fetch request, but it isn't going through. - Have I confirmed the code is being run? Yes. - Have I confirmed it's calling the correct fetch function? yes. - Does it work everyplace else? Yes.

Tried debugging an issue on the CLI, ended up making a sweet debugger web app instead, and it worked great, until I tried to actually use it. Now it doesn't work at all... because a simple `fetch` function isn't working.

Keith Ellison's face at the end is priceless. What a gem

RON JOHNSON: Are you aware of training for activists, Mr Ellison? KEITH ELLISON: Yeah I'm aware. It's common for people to use their First Amendment rights, sir

Today I learned that a graduate student at the University of Minnesota was abducted by ICE yesterday. We need a rapid response from leaders at all levels on what we can do to protect everyone in our community. I will keep working on this issue and update as I learn more.

Every once in a while, Manning (my publisher) sends me a book to review. They recently sent me Outlier Detection in Python by Brett Kennedy, and it is a fantastic book. It's the rare sort of book that makes itself useful right away.

I went through and reviewed old PRs and issues on the grokking algorithms repo today. It takes me way too long to get to these, but I really appreciate the contributions, so please keep opening PRs!

The repo is nearly at 12,000 stars on github. The popularity of this book still blows me away. I remember Manning telling me 10 years ago, "we'll consider your book a success if it sells 5,000 copies"!

Most of the images from the book are available for non-commercial use. They're checked in to the Github repo. If you're an educator and would like to use these images in your teaching, please feel free to do so. All you need to do is add the proper attribution. github.com/egonSchiele/...
