I know this sounds like a scam, but you should take a look at MissingMoney.com I search my name every few years and I end up claiming some money that somehow didnt find its way to me in the past. If you want to use a MN site, check unclaimedpropery.mn.gov
Since my Globe Haul is still not working, I've been driving to work. It's given me the opportunity to see this pedestrian and bike bridge going in over Rt 62. I guess I need to give Edina credit where it's due.
I've lived in Minneapolis for 7 years. In the time since I moved, all of the cells in my body died and have been replaced. I may be made of star stuff, but I am also made of Broders Pizza, cookies from the Uptown Aldi, and Sebastian Joe's ice cream. I am of Minneapolis.
Question for MSPsky: do you have an emotional reaction when one candidate at a forum makes a point of noting that *they* have lived in (MN / Minneapolis / St. Paul) for their *whole entire lives* while their opponent is a transplant?

excellent work by @michellemgriff.bsky.social, who managed to fill in the gaps in demithβs background β even though demuth wouldnβt agree to an interview with her. just trust me on this one
Oof. After less than 10k miles One on One is telling me the battery is kaput. I was expecting that battery to last quite a bit longer. That a $1k bill added to the running cost of maintenance. $0.12/mi alone for the battery.
Thanking a higher power that One on One moved a mile from home in the tine since buying this bike. I dont think i could have ridden a 70 lb bike 6 miles across the city.

My Specialized Globe Haul isn't turning on after riding home from work in the rain Tuesday. I'm hoping I can figure this out without having to replace the control electronics. I'm at the cusp of 10k miles, and I've been looking forward to seeing the odometer roll over.

A reason Bryant was reconstructed was because it was a former streetcar and then bus route. Buses were moved to Lyndale w/ this work. You can look up traffic counts for streets in Minnesota at the link below. Bryant went from AADT in the 2ks to about 700+ mndot.public.ms2soft.com/tcds/tsearch...
I dont think SWT has any plans for the future. The Greenline Extension is a few months away - they've done no public outreach, no discussion of this in their Commissioner meetings. I have no optimism that they are going to do any work to interface with this new line.
My family would head to Philips Aquatic Center Sunday AMs in the winter for Family Swim. An activity I'd highlight as a reason why Minneapolis was special. 2025 budget cuts removed those hours from the schedule. More unique, accessible resources will disappear if we dont protect them.
My argument is simple; our parks are worth it. In the last few years our park levy has been consistently under what we need to fully function. This led to rec center cuts. We are facing cuts again, while the city has been far less fiscally prudent. Gift link: www.startribune.com/mpls-green-s...
Updates to the bike network give me such an unreasonable amount of civic pride. Minneapolis is the greatest city in the world!
city will fix 2 notorious Uptown bike lane problems between now and 2028: -connect the missing link on Lake between Humboldt & Hennepin Ave. -convert to a 2 way bike lane on Hennepin between Lake & 31st; create curbside parking for food delivery drivers who always park in the existing lanes.

Interesting discussion of Blue Line funding in the Strib this morning from @nbminor.bsky.social.
I finally got my chance to check out the tunnel under the Plymouth Ave Bridge. Huge improvement over having to cross the street, but it could definitely use some wayfinding from Plymouth.
The Minneapolis staycation is winding down. We did about 90 miles by bike this week to all of our activities, walked to dinner, canoed in lakes, and enjoyed the parks. I'm grateful to live in a city that is so much fun to explore.
I'll call this Day 1 of our week-long Minneapolis staycation. We took the Kenilworth Trail to Target Field for the kids' first baseball game. It's no State Fair bike parking, but the bike coral still looked good.
