Hey @albomp.bsky.social This is what the current American administration say about *THEIR OWN CITIES*. I do not want a fucking US military base in my very-much-not American city. They definitely won't care about us. No American sub base in Perth.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "With the war, it's just artificial. It's a little bit high. It's a small price to pay ... let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay."

Got to say many Americans finally discovering how much of a fraud American Exceptionalism is, is a silver lining in everything that's going on these days.

Just when you think this administration cannot sink this nation any lower than it already has, it’s a new day. I used to say, this is not who we are – it is. I’m also going to stop saying, we are better than this, because apparently, we are not.

People going "Don't worry, my dog is friendly" are generally inconsiderate about their dogs. I remember a few years back my then-toddler being chased by a "don't worry, it's friendly" dog on the local school oval. Now he's eight, he runs 100m out of his way to avoid *any* encounters with a dog.

Drake (Lycan Subscribe)@trailerdrake.com

My dog has been attacked before, so she gets extremely defensive when approached by other dogs, especially bigger ones. I ALWAYS keep her on-leash when we go on walks. The amount of off-leash dogs that run up to her is absurd. "Don't worry, my dog is friendly!" Great, well mine isn't.

And we are live! Massive thanks to everyone who contributed to this. Reading your posts made me so much madder than I ever knew was possible

I'm working on a column about the tech annoyances that drive us crazy, and I want it to be as universal as possible, so tell me yours! E.g. scanning a QR code to read a menu, never receiving the one-time passcode they supposedly texted you, "verify you're human" by IDing tiny motorcycles, etc.

If you took all but $100 million each from billionaires, and distributed it at $500 per person from the poorest person in the world upward, *all* that money would be better spent. And the former billionaires would still be living a life beyond the belief of nearly all other people on the planet.

I'm somewhat bemused by the idea that the person in charge of a CORRUPTION COMMISSION thinks that it's OK to have an *undisclosed* job on the side. It's not like it's the job in the country where you'd most expect transparency or anything.

Senator David Shoebridge@davidshoebridge.bsky.social

I asked the outgoing NACC Commissioner whether he accepts responsibility for keeping his own CEO in the dark about his ongoing defence work. His answer was that his CEO had no business knowing what he was doing on the side 🤯🤯🤯 They just don't think the rules apply to them!

We should be doing this in Australia. Has the double advantage of producing renewable energy AND providing summer shade over all those burning hot asphalt car parks Wonder if it would also help reduce urban heat Should also include all workplace carparks to power the offices/warehouses/factories

The USA should immediately be excluded from all international organisations, treaties and agreements and heavily sanctioned until it removes its current leaders from power, and not readmitted until they agree irrevocably for Americans to be subject to international justice as the rest of the world.

Countries know to have nukes, in order of dementedness of current leaders: 1. Israel =2. Russia =2. USA 4. Pakistan 5. India 6. China (concerning that they're this low) =7. UK (for now, but Farage) =7. France (for now, but LePen)

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Q: Is hitting power plants is a war crime? TRUMP: I'm not worried about it. You know what's a war crime? Allowing a sick country w/demented leaders to have a nuclear weapon. If I allowed that to happen like 7 other presidents- many of them say off the record they should've done this a long time ago

The world looking away from Israel's actions in Gaza - doing exactly this sort of thing - has normalised it to the point where I doubt anyone even notices a threat to commit war crimes.

Angry@angrystaffer.bsky.social

Never thought I’d see the President of the United States threatening to commit blatant war crimes on social media, but here we are.

Hey @albomp.bsky.social, isn't Israel the country who's President you just feted here? What do you have to say @senatorwong.bsky.social ? These people are not our friends, they're violent psychopaths.

Yeah, well perhaps you should have a long hard look at the cops @chrisminnsmp.bsky.social, after they beat up people who were peacefully protesting. But hey, you've got a better job holding an umbrella up to keep the rain off the president of a genocidal state. Aren't you fucking disappointing?

chrisminnsmp.bsky.social@chrisminnsmp.bsky.social

Our police officers are the backbone of our community, trusted in the toughest times, and our Government fully supports them.

Yeah, they didn't vote for leopards to eat their faces, even though the leopards kept telling you how good it is to eat faces.

Matthew Bunn@matthew-bunn.bsky.social

Seriously, folks, people did NOT vote for murder on the streets. A majority of those who voted went for Trump, and to win power, those against Trump will have to win many of them over, not reject them all as people who want fascism.

If Israel has the right to issue (or deny) "permits" to work in Gaza, then they control Gaza. Which means that a large swathe of people under Israeli rule are not even considered citizens, let alone have a say in running the country ruling them. Israel is NOT a democracy (unless an apartheid one)

Microsoft in the latest update I've got has mapped the Alt-Spacebar keystroke THAT HAS BEEN THERE SINCE WINDOWS 3 to open Copilot. None of the instructions to undo the change work. I've used this shortcut for 30 years, but no, now it's Cofuckingpilot instead STOP FUCKING DOING THIS SHIT MICROSOFT

The #AFL would have to be the most tone-deaf sporting league in in the universe No one wants or needs "wildcard round". We already have eight out of 18 teams playing finals, there's no need for more The team finishing 10th is NEVER going to be competitive in finals, what's even the point in this?

No Kings? But Denmark has a king, and so does Norway, and Sweden and Spain. And the UK for that matter, as well as technically Australia, Canada and New Zealand. Japan Trump doesn't want to be king - he wants to be ruler for life of the Democratic Peoples Republic of America. Kim Don Un.

Just deleted a bunch of posts arguing with Zionists because it's just polluting my timeline. They're not worth my time. If you're a Zionist, feel free to block me, mute me. You can be supportive of Jewish people while saying that Israel is committing a genocide. It's not antisemitic to say so/

but if you support Israel's actions in Gaza (or the West Bank for that matter), then you will not like my positions on these. I believe that brown Palestinian people have just as much right to a life as anyone else. And if you support Israels attempts to erase them, then you are not a good person.
