I'm not saying that Israel should up and leave like they did in Gaza. From what I have read about that withdrawal, it seemed more like a British-style "ugh okay i'm just going to leave" than a concerted effort to set up a functional Palestinian civilian government there.

Y'all don't get that the ACA was truly transformative change? That Biden's BBB bill was transformative, so was the Maternal Health iniative and the student loan forgiveness program. I think your issue here is that YOU personally don't feel that YOU personally have benefitted.

This post shows a profound misunderstanding most people have about healthcare. Coverage and Access are NOT the same thing. America has 92% coverage. All seniors and nearly all children living below the poverty line have coverage through Medicare/Medicaid or the ACA Health Exchanges.

Talking about "free healthcare" is the wrong issue. The issue with healthcare is not cost, it's access. Coverage needs some work, yes. No one disagrees. But we REALLY need a national movement to build a healthcare system that is accessible and equitable. Otherwise coverage is useless.

But coverage does not mean ACCESS. This is the area where America falls down while leftists are caterwauling on about coverage. A single payor system doesn't train more nurses. It doesn't increase the number of patients a doctor can see in a day. It doesn't open a single new hospital bed.

I worked 1 shift bartending at a club in Philly. The bar manager was an ass, and he took half our tips. At the end of the night while he was yelling at the staff, I threw back 2 tequila shots, told him I would not becoming back, and walked out. That job lasted 1 day.
