But we also saw the power of people coming together demanding change. This is a nonpartisan issue, and I'm glad to work with colleagues from both sides of the aisle to move this important bill forward.

What happened at Ridglan Farms was a wake up call, not just for our community, but across the country. We saw thousands of beagles confined in inhumane conditions and bred for research.

Today Rep. Langworthy and I introduced the COMPACT Act, which will modernize federally funded biomedical research and end inhumane testing practices on cats and dogs.

This weekend I joined Dane4Dogs celebrating the Ridglan beagle survivors, their new forever families and the people who worked tirelessly against alarming animal cruelty to save them. It was a fantastic day at The Boneyard in Madison.
