RIP to an incredible actor, Alfred Bester is one of my all time favorite Lawful Evil villains

My pal Danielle Koenig shared that her father Walter Koenig passed away last night at age 90. A performer whose kindness and warmth shone through the screen. He will be well remembered.

😭

George Takei@georgetakei.bsky.social

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

This weeks 2WU! :D TL, DR: Another somewhat slower week, but still good progress, now at 67.8k, happy with the quality of what I wrote though, want to finish current scene next week, then move onto editing 2nd novel for release :) #writing #writingcommunity

enosworkshop.wordpress.com2WU! :DHeya Folks, Progress this week has been steady and third novel is now at about 67.8k words. I took Friday semi off again and only did a bit of editing and some light additions to pace myself a litt…

Ok I do find it really cute that there is a petition to save ME5. Does anyone actually think a private saudi owned company gives a singular flying fuck about what a western audience petitions for? Move on with your lives. This was over the moment Veilguard flopped and I say that as big ME Fan

Lmao, 500 Million Dev costs? What fuck where these guys doing? Snorting coke and slurping champagne with Escorts? Like come on. Jokes aside looks like another case of "oh dw we will surely sell millions and then cash in hard on micro transactions" and no one controlled the budget ever after

Kotaku@kotaku.com

A source tells Kotaku that Gears of War: E-Day cost over $500 million to make. Sales estimates have been weak despite earning the highest Metacritic score since the original trilogy. If ... https://kotaku.com/the-case-for-exclusivity-when-gears-of-war-e-day-cost-over-500-million-to-make-2000747986

My brother in christ, he doesn't know PHP existed? It's only one of the most ubiquitous and wide spread languages web development for oh 10+ years and is around for 30. Modern journalism has an incompetence problem bc this level of ignorance is commonplace in other fields too and not just at BBC

John O’Donnell@jodami.bsky.social

Maybe the BBC should get someone who actually knows what he is talking about then.

Mass Effect changed my brain chemistry. It was one of those Important Games that really made me feel like I was somewhere else. Bioware was a garden that grew thousands of game developers and storytellers from its passionate fanbase. We are diminished, yet again.

BREAKING: Electronic Arts is cutting 400 jobs and shutting down BioWare, the legendary development studio behind Dragon Age and Mass Effect. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Mass Effect was my favourite game series of all time, so this is sad news (yes even ME:A). Sadly the Company that made these legendary games was long gone given the track record. All the more eyes on Exodus, which is basically offbrand mass effect by ex-ME devs. #gaming #vtuber

"bUt aNtHrOpIc Is tHe ReSpOnSiBlE aNd PrOfItAbLe Ai CoMpAnY" Can't wait for this to be allowed to IPO and go on the Nasdaq anyways in sub 2 years when this thing goes tanking with close to zero net worth, every mouthbreather in finance will go "but how were we supposed to knoooooow"

Watched Redline for the first time and boy is that a wild ride in every respect. The animation quality and character diversity is absurd, especially considering that all of this was hand made. Most modern digital production pale in comparison to it. #vsky #movies #anime

2WU! :D TL;DR: Took it actually slower this week and took Friday off^^, fused two string of action and have gotten a great idea how to launch into next plot phase after struggling with that for a bit :3; Soon gonna sit down to edit 2nd Novel for release #writing #writingcommunity

enosworkshop.wordpress.com2WU! :DHeya Folks! :DThis week I did what I had wanted to do last week and miserably failed at: Taking it slower x3 Hence I wrote a bit less than usual (about 1k words still though) and took Friday off en…

Gameplay wise Plague Tale: Requiem will not become my favourite, in fact I think whenever it tries to be a stealth game it is rather miserable and action sequences are meh (though thrilling!), but the writing, style, graphic and sound design are just immaculate.

Since it's turning cold, many Ladybirds are looking for a place for their winter rest. If you find one inside your apartment/house please get them out again. The inside of our houses is too warm, they can't properly enter rest mode and would starve. (Attic or cellar can be fine)

Yeah seriously. Just do it. You don't need fancy programs either, there is plenty adequate free writing solutions out there. When you are done fkin publish it. You don't need super fancy solutions, ad campaigns or need to publish in bulk or any of that horse shit. It's just gatekeeping. Do it.

There is one writing rule. ONE. It is this: You must write. If you write, you're a writer. Everything else is negotiable. How often, how much, what about, *everything* else is negotiable. There's lots of other advice, some good, some bad. Take what works for you. But there is only one rule.

Hellclock is actually quite a fun ARPG with fairly in depth and flexible build possibilities. I find it a bit weird some called it Hades-like because it takes for more from classic ARPGs like Diablo, Torchlight and such. Also nice to see some light shed on South America history. #gaming #vsky

Yeah well if they told the truth like "ye well we overhired a bit and now we need to cut a bit again" or "well some of our business decisions backfired and so we have to cut costs" it would mean someone, be they in C-Suite or not, had to take accountability. Can't have that.

The Spaceshipper 🚀@thespaceshipper.com

"The cuts were intended to best position our German studios for the future... with a clearer focus on their role, capabilities and organizational setup needed for the work ahead.” Could we please, once and for all, stop with this shitty, ridiculous corporate speak that nobody takes seriously? 🙏

I swear if I see another Top 10 Sci-fi books with Hyperion in it imma built an entire persona around dunking on Top 10 lists including it bc I swear these people have not read past the first 1-2 stories. Also kinda crazy that something as foundational as Dune or Jules Verne is not on this one

Cronos The New Dawn was a game I enjoyed far more than I would have thought and even had a story twist I didn't quite expect. It is the sort of twisted mystifying horror scenario I do enjoy, with people trying their best against the odds and forces beyond their ken. Luck is not on their side

Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe was a fricking delight x) I had to laugh alot at the white boards and the additional content was great ( ALL HAIL THE BUCKET!). Kevan Brighting was just as lovely in his deliveries ass all those years back and the meta commentary was actually quite poignant :D #vsky

Cronos The New Dawn is surprisingly fun for me I have to say. I like the vibe and setting, like if RE, Silent Hill and Dead Space had a baby. Spooktober kinda warming me to Survival Horror Shooter Game runs a bit rough at times though (and ofc it's UE5, what else) #gaming #vsky

Finished Signalis and it was a ride. The ending didn't hit me too hard, maybe because I saw it sorta coming, but it was still an absolute vibe of a game. I could critique things about the moment to moment gameplay, but the game as a whole is just too good for nitpicking #gaming #vsky

The weirdest thing is that on days where I think I do not know what to write, things come the most naturally once I start it. Just flows out of me from a place I did not even know was there. #writing #writingcommunity #booksky

Finished Phantom Liberty, great dlc many good quests and characters. Decided last minute to stay with the birdie seeing her genuine gratefulness versus the rather cold blooded murder Reed and Alex engaged in prior. In the end my V saved her, because he wanted her to make it. #gaming #vsky

Read Franz Kafka's "The Castle" In irritating and sometimes excrutiating read and that is exactly what it wants to be. One does not want to read and still can't put it away, washed away by the plot much like the MC and at the end one can interpret it in many ways. #book #booksky

Gee. DeNiro+Harrison Ford first row, DeForest Kelly (2nd row middle) + Tom Cruise, Leonard Nimoy (right in beige jacket) with Lucille Ball (?) behind him Robbin Williams+ Walther Mathau (I think) + Gene Hackman, William Shatner + Peter Graves (2nd last row on the left), Charles Bronson behind Cruise

I realised that I have taken only 2 days off this year. Basically every week day I have been writing away, weekends I do take off, but otherwise I have been pumping out 1200-1600, at peak 2000-3000, words a day Only days I took off were to help family & friends (often Fri-Sun) #writing #booksky
