Reading this while waiting for my youngest child to get to sleep so I can then go and play Control Resonant and find some art galleries

Stephen Totilo@stephentotilo.bsky.social

NEW: Remedy's latest game, Control Resonant, is filled with art galleries. The galleries are filled with real art When I began talking to Remedy about it, I was delighted to discover who the artists are: many are the game developers' parents My story... www.gamefile.news/p/control-re...

Had a small cheer seeing the result in Brazil, given my hopes were low for a good result. It has landed on the cursed 52:48 ratio...

Trying out a few Next Fest games this evening, mostly stuff that was already on my wishlist which makes it easier than wading through the slop. However, first up is this excellent Idol-like which has popped up here on Bluesky and is now also on the wishlist!

Papers, Please might have inspired quite a few games over the years, but this one both leans more closely to its style while differing with its naval setup and really want to see where this goes next bsky.app/profile/retr...

I've long been a fan of the PixelJunk games from the PS3/PSP days and it's great to see Monsters returning to the original art style but embracing new ideas. This plays really nicely on Steam Deck too. bsky.app/profile/q-ga...

The first playable demo of PixelJunk Monsters 3 is HERE! 🏝️ Available starting today, exclusively during Steam Next Fest! 🏃 Run 💃 Dance 🏰 Build towers Defend your island against waves of invading monsters!! 🕷️ This time, new roguelike elements add even more strategic depth and replayability!

Isles of Sea and Sky was one of my favourites from 2024, and their next game is quite different from that open-world block-pusher. More tower defence, but plays quite differently with a lot of mechanics to dig into bsky.app/profile/cica...

Been eagerly awaiting this one since playing the demo from beginning to end a few months ago. A deck builder that isn't looking for 200 hours of your time!

Burn With Me is out now!! store.steampowered.com/app/2954010/... I can say a lot about our eerie narrative deckbuilder, but this release trailer speaks louder than words.

I've been working on this little garden for the past year, and today it's finally open! 🌱 Chomp Garden is out now on Steam! A bite-sized puzzle adventure where you play as a tiny lamp, guide strange plants with light, and find your lost pup! store.steampowered.com/app/4457150

Went down a Wikipedia rabbit hole looking up all these rare and unrealised machines, so great to see them displayed

No Indy 500 clash *and* no Le Mans clash. Wondering if Honda could get Alonso in an Andretti or Ganassi to complete the triple crown. Or maybe McLaren or Ford could run Norris or Verstappen in their new Hypercars.

Gave the Xbox disc-to-digital system a go and it just worked, but then it made me realise I only have 3 Xbox One games on disc. I think Game Pass killed off buying "full price" games for that machine (and when I did buy them I got them on the PS4 digital or disc instead)

For those in the niche of having Xbox One Promo Discs they got for games to review in the period before it all went to codes, I can confirm I was able to redeem my Konami-provided copy of PES 2016.

I think the world is finally ready for a new Auto Modellista, a game which, according to MobyGames, I was ready for a sequel when I reviewed it all the way back in 2003.

With the children at the grandparents' for the day we've taken the opportunity to go to Kew as just a couple for the first time in a decade. Which also meant we could climb all the stairs for the view at the top of the Pagoda

This feels almost threatening from Google photos. Also makes me miss the days of going to Gamescom and getting to do some silly waggle stuff with the Wii remote

They're at it again. This time with another photo of me from Gamescom past, again waggling a controller, this time a PlayStation Move one. Photo from before when things knew which way you were holding the camera.

That was a mad end to the Formula E championship, and a tricky one to explain to my children as it was happening! Super pleased to Barnard pick up his first win after cheering him on through poles and podiums at McLaren last year.

Won a meet and greet with Envision Racing and got to meet the legendary Sébastien Buemi and reserve driver Zak O'Sullivan 😃 We got to explore the pit lane just after practice and then hang around and chat at the Envision garage. Day already made before we've seen a competitive session #FormulaE

Zak was generous with his time and happy to engage with questions, so got to have a good chat about his recent experience with the Gen 4 car

Now trying to calm down after that government alert. In an increasingly unstable world you immediately assume it's something terrible, and while the fire risk is not insignificant, I didn't need that kind of panic to be told not to start up a disposable BBQ or set off fireworks.

There was an unplanned gathering of the local community and some people from farther away in the field down the end of our road to watch the eclipse. Lovely atmosphere with families and all ages present 🌘

Managed to have some eclipse glasses I'd ordered for the partial one last year. This picture is from just as they arrived... One hour after the eclipse. At least I was well prepared for the big event.

Been lucky enough to play this with two different groups of friends the last couple of nights, two different absolutely excellent experiences. I had to hold off on the second group to avoid spoiling puzzles, but a lot changes depending on how you work together. Highly recommend.

In just six days, over one million of you have bought Big Walk, our co-op adventure all about talking and walking. We are so grateful that so many of you are spending time with our game. And we deeply appreciate your fanart, your streams, your stories, and your moments. Thank you for playing.

On the boxes not the consoles themselves. Although I like the idea that Sony is going house-to-house with a sticker to put on your PS5, probably over the disc drive slot to make it clear.

IGN@ign.com

Sony now seems to be placing advisory stickers on PlayStation 5 consoles warning players that physical games will soon be discontinued. https://t.co/k8ix46yvtA

We managed to watch Hunt for the Wilderpeople while on holiday this week, and it seems a lot of people are coming to appreciate it following the death of Sam Neill. It's funny and heartwarming, and currently on Prime Video www.theguardian.com/film/2026/au...

theguardian.comHunt for the Wilderpeople review – Sam Neill is warm and wise in Taika Waititi’s goofily tremendous filmWaititi’s eccentric drama sends the late actor into the New Zealand wilderness with his young charge, angry authorities in hot pursuit

On holiday near the coast in Dorset and yesterday I experienced something I'd not felt in a long time... I was cold while sitting outside. Takes me back.

Of course it's the race I don't get to watch until late in the evening that produces the first McLaren win of the year. Going to bed late but happy, and also thankful that I don't have to get up early and get the children into school.

Wikipedia not missing a beat about this small strange period of time where we don't have a Prime Minister. Editors have been getting plenty of experience with this over the past decade.

If a team makes a game that gets great reviews and doesn't sell, that's a biz failing but the silver lining is you caught lighting in a bottle -- protect that team! It's worth its weight in gold. If you jettison the team but keep the biz people, I don't know what to tell you

I've had "Type Help" open in a browser tab for months, so this finally pushed me to give it a go. Can understand all the hype it had - an excellent deduction game even in just text form. I'm excited to try out Incident at Galley House in the near future.

Watching people who should know better post AI slop images and videos around Count Binface is really disappointing. It's still environmentally damaging stolen work even if you like the political angle.

Playing a lot of less known indie games, or even just demos, on my Steam Deck I'm quite used to seeing the "Unknown compatibility" warning. It's rare for something not to work, so while the listings are great, don't be scared to give something a try regardless
