For anyone else having big feelings about the BioWare news, please consider checking out @dorkspawn.bsky.social, a podcast where two best friends play games and discuss them like a book club, starting with Dragon Age and Mass Effect. I stumbled onto it this year and it’s beautiful and wonderful 💖

I now have permission to share something I hoped would be revealed with much more fanfare I spent more than 3 years as one of the writers of #MassEffect4 It was one of the greatest privileges & GLORIOUS challenges of my life So when I say I am devastated by the end of #MassEffect I REALLY mean it

On 16-17 of October, I went to Kanata Con and had so much fun. I played 9 different games. 6 published games & 3 playtests. I played Nemesis Retaliation, Dewan, Shadowrun Takedown, Marco Polo, Things in Rings, and Ada’s Dream. I played 3 card games: economic, deckbuilder & trick taker.

One thing I find fascinating with the Manitoba decision to permanently keep daylight saving is that it will always be 1 hour different from Saskatchewan even though theyvare in the same time zone. Saskatchewan doesn’t do daylight saving and is always in standard time.

While some purists restrict the "OSR" label to games emulating OD&D and/or Mentzer Basic, others consider anything from the hobby's first decade fair game; thus, having first been published only six years after OD&D, under the broader definition you could technically write an OSR game based on this:

A thing about BoardGameGeek: it's all one massive database, so if people are reviewbombing a game because (say) there's a black character in it, you can click through and see who they are, and note their ids, and then every time they post on the BGG forums in future you can reply "STFU you racist."

Cool! I don’t use self-checkout since I don’t get any benefit. Plus, I discovered some nice cashier to interact with. I rather they have a job.
