Tonight’s Jimmy Kimmel monologue was a watershed moment for politics and free speech. He handled it with grace, dignity and humility. The more Trump comes after these people the less popular he will become.

Kimmel: "The President of the United States made it very clear he wants to see me and the hundreds of people who work here fired from our jobs. Our leader celebrates Americans losing their livelihoods because he cannot take a joke."

CBS canceled Colbert’s show just THREE DAYS after Colbert called out CBS parent company Paramount for its $16M settlement with Trump – a deal that looks like bribery. America deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons. Watch and share his message.

WTF CBS Paramount ?! Another company grifting with the MAGA cult of Trump. Bend the knee, kiss the swollen, orange hand. Boycott the b*stards. I stand with Stephen Colbert ✊🏻✊🏾✊ Watch. Share. Raise hell. 👇

Stephen Colbert has been consistently one of the most spot-on critics of Trump from the beginning and CBS has been consistently willing to cave in to Trump's demands. I hope some other network realizes that CBS's cowardice is an opportunity for them . . . Stephen Colbert is a national treasure.

Wow. Stephen Colbert announced his The Late Show will end in May. CBS says it's financial. But given Colbert's criticism of Donald Trump and how Paramount settled a lawsuit w/Trump as its sale was before federal regulators, could there be more to this? https://loom.ly/P33W5uc

This is where I tell you that, just like Conan O'Brien, Stephen Colbert is a profoundly kind, generous and decent man. He has been that way to me and I've never heard a bad word about him, ever. He deserves better than this and I have no doubt -- like Conan -- he will get it.

Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers helped me keep my sanity through CoVid. I feel like a friend has been mistreated. What a bunch of cowards. Stephen Colbert was the only reason I watched CBS. I know he'll land on his feet and I hope CBS sees their ratings tank. 🤬

Just finished taping with Stephen Colbert who announced his show was cancelled. If Paramount and CBS ended the Late Show for political reasons, the public deserves to know. And deserves better.

This was the order of events: 1. Paramount acceded to Trump’s extortion by paying a bribe. 2. Stephen Colbert calls his employer out for doing that. 3. Paramount fires Stephen Colbert for being honest about Trump. 4. Proving Trump’s bribe worked.

In Australia, it's legal to lie in a political ad. In the next few months, we will endure another federal election campaign with unfiltered exposure to lies and disinformation, UNLESS the Government passes truth in political advertising laws, which 87% of Australians support. Let's get it done!

Today’s show was my last at CNN. My closing message: It’s never a good time to bow down to a tyrant… don’t give in to the lies. Don’t give in to fear. Hold on to the truth… and hope.

To those saying this has no impact on him -which is true- it has an impact on US. WE desperately need to see people with the courage to stand up to him & confront his cruelty directly, to his face. Courage is contagious. Brava, Bishop Budde. And thank you.

Cuts to the humanities and the arts education and research funding are happening all over the place - yet people love watching drama, visiting museums, listening to history podcasts etc etc. Where will the next generation of artists, writers, curators and musicians come from?

I finally deleted my account at the other place. I had planned to lurk and watch it burn but then they turned off the block function. That stuck a fork in it for me. So pleased to be here 🦋

You are up to date.
