We published this story late Friday afternoon amid an avalanche of news so I’m reposting it now because Kohen Wiley’s life mattered more than a box of diapers.

So @lilianasegura.bsky.social and I just co-wrote a piece about the bodycam footage in the Kohan Wiley case. theintercept.com/2026/10/23/k...

People's risk assessments are so off. Here's a math grad saying AI is scary because it can 'build extinction-level bioweapons'. AI would at best make bad actors more efficient. The time to worry about bioweapons was a decade ago when we could have regulated mutagenic chain reactions. We didn't. 1/

I know everything feels terrible and doomy but I've been working on surveillance issues for most of my adult life and I have never seen so much energy, momentum, and concrete VICTORIES happening as what we are seeing right now on Flock cameras and facial recognition in venues. Keep. Going.

Rescheduled: Isle of Klezbos plays New Rochelle FREE Mon, August 10th at 7pm, following last week's stormy postponement. We'll feature guest Rachelle Garniez (nu? Rachelle!) accordion/piano, Debra Kreisberg clarinet/sax, Pam Fleming: trumpet & me on drums. NRPL is just a block from MetroNorth train

Borscht Belt Fest has been wonderful so far! Tomorrow 2:30PM Isle of Klezbos plays a free outdoor concert, & today I was on two sold-out panel discussions with amazing fellow presenters: Ellenville NY. Wonderful weather, excellent vibes, amazing stories, great performers borschtbeltfest.org

We have to postpone Isle of Klezbos’ show in New Rochelle tonight due to flood warning & tornado watch. So sorry, the band was really psyched to play! I’ll post a reschedule date ASAP.

How much longer do they think they can get away with blaming Biden for everything?

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

HEGSETH: We had US boats that surrendered to Iranian ships during the Biden administration-- REED: Listen -- we're talking about the war you started. Not a situation in which oil was flowing freely, we weren't losing personnel. So your fallback to Biden is just a very very obvious excuse
