@danacorn.bsky.social Theory. Ozy really IS a gray wolf and Llewellyn just told him he was an arctic zen fox (which doesn’t exist) as part of a dragon conspiracy to keep his identity hidden because of his mother’s ice cream creation. This also explains why he gets shaved too.

As an undergrad I did some reporter assays for miR-8. 15 years later I get an e-mail from my old advisor, Jennifer Kennell, saying a collaborator, Patrica Wittkopp, would like them for a publication. Just proves nothing we do in lab is ever without merit. academic.oup.com/genetics/adv...

I came here in 1975. I'm a Nobel Prize-winning scientist born in Germany during WWII, came here in 1975 thinking there was no way fascism could take hold in this country. I was wrong. I don't not want to be book-ended by two fascist regimes. We will stand up and set things right.

Choice words from Dr. Szostak here. And while I am no Nobel Prize-winning scientist, I identify with the same quandary as an immigrant, moving here in 2009 and (proudly) becoming a citizen in 2023. I, too, don't recognize that country anymore 😢🇺🇸🧳🛫. newsletter.ofthebrave.org/p/im-a-nobel...

The idea that ballet isn't popular is kinda silly. Demon Slayer: Infinite Castle crushed at the box off because it was a tour de force of choreographed fluid movement of human bodies to music. That is the core of ballet right there

1/10 Genome maintenance by telomerase is a fundamental process in nearly all eukaryotes. But where does it come from? Today, we report the discovery of telomerase homologs in a family of antiviral RTs, revealing an unexpected evolutionary origin in bacteria. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

A wood panel commission for @evwaldron.bsky.social ! We both love Grograman, The Many-Colored Death, from the Neverending Story book, so he asked me for my interpretation. Whatever Grograman touches crumbles into burning multicolor sand, and he changes to the color of whatever dune he's standing on
