new @fangraphs.com: notes from a surreal scene at Citi Field with Pete Alonso's return.

Hello Mets friends #Metssky VERY well said by Anthony Dicomo Worth 90 seconds of your time to read www.reddit.com/r/NewYorkMet...

The "real" #Mets fans are those that accept different opinions about current and former players. Real fans don't call other fans pathetic or an embarrassment because they disagree. We CAN disagree. We should not be rude and disparaging.

Pete Alonso lingered in the Mets’ batting cage before Monday’s game giving hugs and joking with his old teammates. Hadn’t seen that before. Hadn’t seen what followed from the Citi Field crowd before, either. sny.tv/articles/met...

Good for you, Polar Bear! Congratulations on hitting #300! You could see how excited he was; almost like it was a form of payback for the Mets not bringing him back. Also, this is the most excited you'll see Mets fans over the opposing team hitting a home run! #LGM #PeteAlonso

It’s a beautiful thing!

Fire Stearns!

300 career home runs for the Polar Bear

That Alonso home run was poetic justice.

“Fire Stearns” chants 🤣

You knew that was going to happen. Curtain call. Gotta love it. #imwith25

Andy was one of the kindest people I have ever met. He just radiated LOVE: for his people, animals, everyone. My fondest memories of him are when he had a room full of friends holding on to his every word. He was an incredible storyteller and a beautiful person. RIP my friend

Pope Hat Night at the White Sox game

They openly admit their election crimes & are actively doing everything they can to undermine & outright steal the Midterm Elections. Any surprise he fired the remaining members of the Election Assistance Commission? He knows if he loses he's headed for a 3rd Impeachment & an orange jumpsuit. 🤞 👍

Since the Dodgers went to see orange fatso they’ve lost seven in a row.

the mets have traded francisco lindor and juan soto to the savannah bananas for their #11 prospect

The thing many Mets fans fail to realize is that the Mets didn’t have to trade their players for non-prospect minor league filler and say “at least we got something”. With a couple of exceptions (weaver trade and Holmes trade) that’s what they acquired. It was any saving Steve money…

Those of you eager to serve wealthy MLB owners as volunteer Pinkertons won’t like to read this, but as usual Joe Sheehan nails the real problem:

I always loved Bobby O. nypost.com/2026/08/02/s...
