Imagine telling somebody back in 2012 that Playground Games and Forza Horizon would get so popular that it would devour and kill the parent studio and the mainline Forza Motorsport series (most likely).

Sega and Namco made many racing games, but they also made many tennis games, which is pretty much all this episode has to do with our usual topic. Also, Virtua Tennis is kind of the best series ever. New episode's live! 🎾

Star Wars Galactic Racer doing the impossible for a racing game in 2026 by not having all track designs feature 17 lane wide roads. You love to see it.

Gran Temurismo (aka: Assoluto Racing) is out on Switch today. It sort of plays (and looks) like a forgotten early PSP version of Gran Turismo Polyphony put out on release of the console. Shame about the monetisation but not a bad punt at Β£14.

We're back with another truckload of F1 games, running from the N64 to the 360/PS3 days, and the likes of F1 World Grand Prix through the incredible Grand Prix Challenge and, of course, F1 Race Stars. Part 2 is LIVE! time-extend-revo.simplecast.com/episodes/f1-...

I've been listening to a bunch of Time Extend episodes this week - and they're all gold. If you haven't subscribed yet - why?

In 1997, Genki released a racing game. Not that racing gameβ€”it was called Multi Racing Championship for the N64. Far as we can tell, nobody bought it. We already talked about it once, five years ago. Now we're talking about it again. We're not entirely sure why. Anyway, new episode.

Racing game fans care more about banking future video essays on "underrated racing game x/ racing game you've never heard of" than supporting original ideas

Screamer hasn't been a hit out of the gate, with middling word of mouth and a very low player count for a new release. A sign of the times in terms of the appetite for full-price AAA arcade racing games that aren't Horizon; or a confused release strategy from Milestone?

- People seem unsure of the control scheme, and the lack of a demo doesn't help. 2h may not be enough to get a hang of it. - The mindset of "dollars per hour" in pricing hurts Screamer, even though it does have a lot of content - People wanted a story, but don't like VNs I guess
