Chiming in from the LV in PA! Let's go, Bethlehem! Absolutely amazing considering there were at least 3 other events in the neighboring cities all within a 20 minute drive. #nokings #nepa #fdjt #wethepeople #indivisible

patiently explaining to national political reporters that the people who organize No Kings are also doing the daily advocacy, voter registration, mutual aid, and immigrant defense, and that just because the cameras show up for the big crowd does not mean that work did not exist before and after

The NY Times saves its harshest skepticism for progressives. Instead of being impressed by 3,000+ coordinated protests, NYT dismisses the value of “hitting a number” and asks if No Kings will be “a primal scream that fades into a whimper.” F off, NY Times. We'll defeat fascism w/o you. (Gift link)

Lighting my candles and decorating the front window with a very heavy heart today. Minneapolis, you are loved. I'm donating, screaming at my senators, and doing my best to represent from a distance. You are not alone.

Please read this whole thread. This is who we are. Minnesota has had to pave the way, but we all need to be organizing. We all need to be ready. Most importantly, we all need to remember how to come together as neighbors and countrymen again.

Margaret Killjoy@margaret.bsky.social

I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

The U.S. is the only place on earth where poor people shun labor unions, free healthcare, & free education because rich people tell them to ("FOLLOWERS 2020", 3ft8"x5ft9", charcoal & graphite on paper)

Absolutely one of my favorites of hers. (Not that any of her work isn't) But someday I'll probably hang a print of this one, even if looking at it gives me a vague sense of nausea.

"Before we discuss raising taxes on the poor, adding $1 trillion to the deficit, taking health insurance away from 13 million, raising premiums by 10%, defending treason, & protecting a pedophile, let's begin with a prayer" ("BLINDS 2020", 22.25"x37.75", charcoal&graphite on paper, ©LaurieLipton )

Call. Demand. All humans are equal, and these poor souls deserve justice.

I don't judge people based on color, race, religion, sexuality, gender, ability or size. I base it on whether or not they're an asshole ("LIKE, DISLIKE 2017", 43"x33", charcoal & graphite on paper)

Charlie Kirk pledged his life to dividing and destroying our democracy. Without knowing him personally, I'm still fairly confident in stating that he was a piece of shit. But freedom isn't freedom if it doesn't apply to everyone. Murdering someone for their speech and ideology is never okay.

Only the weak lead through fear. Because they're incapable of effective leadership and can't earn real respect. This entire regime is populated with uglier, older versions of Theon Greyjoy.

That's how it's done. Bravo, Mayor Wu. And three cheers to Boston.

Last week, Boston received a letter from AG Bondi threatening to prosecute officials and withhold funds unless we cooperate with carrying out mass deportations. The US Attorney General asked for a response by today, so here it is: stop attacking our cities to hide your administration’s failures.

Hopping in to get my learn on. :) let's get to it. 💪🫶🇺🇸 #onemillionrising

The vibes were ✨ IMMACULATE ✨ in West Pittston today, as we “greeted” JD Vance & called out the the Big BS Bill. JD came to town to pat his buddy Rob Bresnahan on the back for kicking millions off their healthcare. We don’t think it’s “beautiful.” We know it’s BS.

Ex-farm worker here. We need to talk about this whole "But a living wage for farm workers would spike the cost of food!" thing. Not true AT ALL. Y'all don't understand how fast experienced farm workers are. The average tomato picker pulls 650lbs per hour. At $20/hr, that's $0.03/lb for labor.
