Weekend pretty much went like: Wake up. Coffee. Read in bed. Breakfast. Mulch things, chop things, clear things. Lunch (ok like 2-3pm or when hangrey kicks in). Swim. Seats on the deck, wine, read. Catch up on some TV Repeat Always look for the helpers.

Did 2x 5m x 2m x 1m piles thru the mulcher. And a load of wood from previously fallen trees. So much tidier now.

In the UK I had a friend who worked for the OECD on VAT matters. Like, wrote the policy everyone looked at. NZ was the North star. The one to follow and copy. On everything, few/no exceptions, lower rate. UK by comparison? No VAT on biscuits, but Jaffa cakes are cake. (They are not). Stupid.

Would be faster and easier to use php2shell than the azure portal.

if your UI and security design is soooo shit I have to ask Claude where to look - WITH Global Admin access - then you have failed. Thanks Azure. For absolutely NOTHING.

Turns out turns out. iOS 27.2 beta: works perfectly. 27.0: nope. Beta or release. Been running the beta since July. Thanks Tim Apple.

Turns out this didn’t work 5G fails. Totally. Go back to 4G: works right away. Slightly stuck on Spark due to reason but might be looking at it OneNZ after vowing to never use them again. Or work out if 2D works at all at home.

I'd been hanging out for a new Apple TV for... well, ever (I have the previous-previous one - A12 chip?) Then Plex finally updated their app and most of the performance issues I had with the ATV went away. 99% of my use is Plex.

I may still get it. Wifi7 alone might be enough. But its really gone from "TAKE MY MONEY" to ... well, it's in the cart right now, but I've closed the tab. HomeView is a non-starter. Just zero need/use for us in the house. But as a meeting room controller/panel: sign me up. Tho I need apps...

So now I'm looking at the new ATV and thinking: $600 NZD for basically something which make Siri... different (likely not better...) All the Siri examples are things I dont want to do. Not "I don't want to do them with Siri", just don't want.

Almost everything is interrupting me watching a movie/tv show. Popup for a doorbell - the door is right behind me. Who's playing this part? I have @liss.bsky.social Callsheet, which talks to Plex (thanks!). etc etc. Zero added value. Some removed value.
