Lots of new people here today! A bit about me since I've never posted an intro: - I work in tech but don't talk about it much - I like crafts and making stuff. Most recently I have been into crochet - I like video games - I have ADHD - I watch a lot of TV shows while doing said crafting and gaming

i think if you have adhd you should be allowed and actively encouraged to decline meeting invites if you are in the zone. actually i think everyone should be allowed to decline meeting invites all the time. abolish meetings.

The hosting company I was using raised their prices by 3x(!!!) in the past few years so I am having a fun adventure today of getting new hosting and migrating my website. Surely nothing will go wrong

Funniest part was the new hosting company offers free website migrations... once you get past paying it's "file a ticket and we will migrate it for you" and this was my reaction

Before I get another web host recommendation: I totally understand the intent that people are trying to be helpful, but I would like to tell you: I am capable of picking out a webhost for myself. I have already chosen one. I am already aware of what you are going to suggest. Trust me!

What if we just didn't make fun of what people looked like (or their size, or ability, or hair or clothes or makeup or plastic surgery even or any of that shit) Because actually what matters is what you say and what you do words and actions and their impact on other people

Tragic for my wallet that Aritzia did a new colour launch this week that is perfect for me, a person who deserves a treat

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

i bring an iced coffee to the interview. only it’s not for me, it’s for the interviewer. and it’s laced with a sedative. when she comes to, she’s wearing my clothes and i’m in her office. her car keys don’t work. i’m with her husband. her kids don’t recognize her. coming soon from A24.

Looking up something on the internet and finding an answer from yourself from 15 years ago is a pretty wild feeling. Especially when it answers your question!

unbelievably hyped for this

The full trailer for You Can See Everything is out today. And my first thought is that it should be required that Nathan Fielder film for 48 hrs at every tech CEO’s home.

I keep getting an ad for a credit union on the podcast I'm listening to. In the ad the guy says, I'm the newest employee at the credit union. It makes me laugh every time because I'm envisioning getting a job, showing up on the first day and them being like.. for your first task, record a podcast ad

If you are an American who keeps saying "but there's nothing I can do" I would like to inform you that shaming people who are being idiots is a free activity that you can do from the comfort of your home. (Though do NOT make death threats, not cool.) www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

So today I tried on a shirt I have that u haven't worn yet and I couldn't get it over my boobs?? It's my normal shirt size. So now I'm like, I don't know what to do with this information?? Aside from don't buy shirts from there

So to illustrate why I'm so ???? These shirts are both a medium, they have the same measurements on the size chart. Both advertised as slim fit. The black one is less stretchy than the burgundy. The burgundy one is a great fit. Women's clothing sizing is so bogus!

So one thing I have been trying to accomplish lately is making tofu, that is good and is NOT ridiculously high in sodium... and this week and last week I made a couple tofu dishes that Stewart actually thought were good. So I feel pretty good about that

If you are curious, the trick seems to be cutting the tofu pretty thin. I cut the block in half lengthwise and then cut 1/8-1/4 inch slices. Then there is more surface for sauce and things

I had the day off for an extra long weekend. Spent all day playing the new FFXIV patch. Somehow that was more relaxing than the whole week of vacation I took a month ago

I'm at a house party. They are doing karaoke. Someone is singing smells like teen spirit and there is a guy passed out directly in front of the amp.

TIL what an element burning out in a convection oven looks like (it looks like there is a fire in the oven in a place you can't see)

It is funny to me that the debate over using 'y'all' is a bigger trending topic than the debate/uproar over what that post was in response to 😂

UPDATE: Trump has declared the whole of "Lake America" a US "asset." Moreover, diplomatic channels on trade between the US and Canada are—the White House has now declared—closed. But yes, social media, keep telling us that none of this matters or will have any downstream effects.

Alright everyone tap the "America isn't the way it is because he's president. He's president because America is the way it is." sign again today. Feels like it's been every day this week

David Cochrane on Trump and Trumpism: "America isn't the way it is because he's president. He's president because America is the way it is."

New Brunswick is being "the area between Maine and NS"-ed again (our stop signs have both stop and arrêt on them)

Alex Ip 葉清霖@alexip718.com

Fun fact: Quebec is the only place in the world that uses "arrêt" (the French word for "stop) on their stop signs. Even France, where French is invented, uses the English word "stop" on stop signs. So yeah, not happening for Trump. Good luck, babe!

trying to add "no bilingual packaging" to a trade deal with Canada at the 11th hour is hilarious, it's like trying to add "and ban handguns" to the US side of the agreement
