I am late to the Gladiator 2 discourse and not an expert, but have just watched the first 20 minutes over lunch. Wow. Wearing armour on a ship? Hello drowning. Fencing with a stubby short stabbing sword? Hmm. Ship-mounted siege towers? Has Ridley Scott ever been on a boat? So dumb. So CGI. Yawn.

🧵 Wow - this article is bordering on unhinged! Apparently the BBC is akin to a “North Korean re-education camp” for teaching children about net-zero and covering both the pros AND cons of immigration Join me for a masterclass in cherry-picking and context stripping to brainwash your own readers👍🏻

The Cheesecake Factory “controversy” is nice because it’s a rerun of the exact kind of stupid shit we had to sit through every day of the Obama administration. Now Zoomers don’t have to feel left out of having their own Obama “controversy” to reference.

This footage shot by a tourist aboard Jacksonville Boat Charters near Amelia Island, Florida shows a leatherback sea turtle (Dermochelys coriacea). At 2000 lbs (900 kg) & 7 ft long (2.1 m) they're the largest turtles & indeed one of the heaviest extant reptiles on Earth. Here There Be Monsters!

The Akira Kurosawa film Ran is on iPlayer, if you need to just shut your brain off this weekend I recommend his films and just have the storms blowing in the background.

The best sort of comfort food: Massaman Beef Curry is #RecipeOfTheDay! I like to cook the beef in advance, let the flavours deepen, and the meat grow tender in the spicy juices, then cook the potatoes in them just before serving. www.nigella.com/recipes/mass...

I could complain about the state of this poster at my doctor's surgery, but... They started point 3 of the instructions on how to use a QR code with "Presto!" and now I'm desperate to meet whoever designed this! "3. Presto! Your device reads the code and navigated to the info."

I'm too short to grip any overhead handholds on a bus. When young and insecure I hopped up and grabbed it to look as tall as other men nearby. Would have pulled it off too had the bus not braked and turned me into a pendulum and I landed on someone's foot.

Theseus and the Minotaur This was based loosely on an ancient mosaic. I always liked the Minotaur for reasons I don't entirely want to explain. This one ended up quite nice and warm and strange and has a bottom in it. If you had this you'd be so tasteful www.chloecumming.com/chloepencilh...

Go to your camera roll and search “boat” and then post a picture of a boat you like. Sadly, the guy downstairs was driving. Still, Porto is nice from the water.
