Hello! My name is Flanna, and I work primarily on FFXIV! Stuff to think about: ✨ This is a personal account! I won’t/can’t talk about my work! ✨ Please don’t send me bugs! ✨ I enjoy reading and will talk about books. ✨ I yap a lot in general. ✨ I got two cats and a dog. ✨ I am an all around nerd.

Worst fears confirmed: 1. Made too much fudge. 2. The first batch of fudge, the first one you’ve ever made ever in your life that was supposed to be the joke fudge thus all the candy corn embedded, is the better of the two batches you made

Lrp I love ME, I love DA, but without the heart that was the dev team, more often than not the result is a hallow imitation of what once was. Devs make the game, not the franchise.

Is this a safe place to admit that I never actually beat The Answer when I was younger because it was such a massive difficulty spike for someone like me who is bad at video games so I ended up watching a let’s play instead LMAO

BioWare is dead and new horror novels are impossible to find because they’re “niche” all I want is milk tea and curry to heal my soul and I don’t think that’s a big ask

BioWare being shuttered is personally heartbreaking. I love their games, I have a Grey Warden tattoo because of how much DA:O means to me. The people there deserved so much better. What a vile industry this has become.

I literally don't have words for the news of EA closing Bioware. Unconscionable, incompetent, soulless decision-making. May everyone involved in these decision suffer Renegade interrupts for the rest of their lives.

All day in office: I just wanna play Persona or Overwatch or maybe finally try to get good at Deadlock :( The moment I get home: what if I just passed the fuck out for three hours actually

I regret to inform everyone that I love Robert Eggers’s work and I love werewolves, so in two months time I’m going to become intensely and immediately insufferable.

I still haven’t seen Northmen yet but everything else he’s done is exactly the kind of artsy esoteric horror I love and I’m frothing at the fucking mouth for Werwulf

One of my cats might be sick. Barely slept and have to wait for the urgent care to call me back to know if there’s anything actually wrong. Time for stupid retail therapy in the vain hope I feel a little better and don’t become manic.

Solidarity is everyone in the Slack thread responding with a singular despair emoji of their own choosing independent from one another over something extremely inconsequential.

I’m staying over at my parents’ tonight because they’re out of town and want someone to be with their big dog. They live in a very quiet area. I was not exactly thrilled to hear spooky banging sounds outside at about 3:45 in the morning and then not see said big dog in the place he was.

I go to the den, close the dog door, give Kodiak many pets and kisses and tell him he’s so brave and strong and fearsome, but we’re not fighting a bear tonight.

I’m staying over at my parents’ tonight because they’re out of town and want someone to be with their big dog. They live in a very quiet area. I was not exactly thrilled to hear spooky banging sounds outside at about 3:45 in the morning and then not see said big dog in the place he was.

I creep downstairs, just in case, and see Kodiak at the window, quietly growling. I see something out there. Now with mildly higher panic, I grab the nearest flashlight, and in my cowardice check the backyard first. Nothing. I check the front, and there is a torn up trash bag mocking me. Ah.

Very carefully, I open the front door, turn the flashlight to where the garbage bins are kept, and see one completely overturned. *Ah*.

Hyperbolically trapped like a rat in a house with a big dog so I have an actual kitchen to mess around in so I made cookies

Resident Evil was VERY good and if you already like Zach Cregger movies and aren’t a video game purist, you’ll have a great time, I think.

Practical Magic 2 was fine. A little goofy and you have to just let the movie take you for a ride because things start falling apart if you question the plot too much.

Spoiled Milk by Avery Curran (horror and murder in an all-girls boarding school) and Asunder by Kerstin Hall (death magic, terrifying demons, and binding a dying man to a shadow)

Some days there are conversations that are very funny at work and I would love to post them out of context, but unfortunately I like my job despite everything so I can’t post them anywhere But know they were very funny and I almost starting cry-laughing lunging for a keyboard in an open office.

I saw Luce Dacus tonight with my family 🥰 it was nice to just hang out with my parents and sister while listening to very talented musicians. Unrelated, but have you even been to a concert so sapphic you could feel it radiating all around you.

turning 35 apparently means your front door knob breaks (thankfully with you inside the house, small miracles) and that your car breaks down when your dad is with you trying to help you with said door knob it's fine, i'm fine, i definitely didn't have a minor cry sesh not but 10 minutes ago

honestly as shitty as the afternoon has been, I am extremely thankful that I am surrounded by good people who will take time out of their day and go out of their way to help me and cheer me up 🥺 despite everything, there is still joy to be had, and that can be enough.

Another year, another expansion done. Thank you to everyone on my team for all their hard work. Thank you to my colleagues near and far, and to those we lost along the way; I hope you found a brighter horizon. And thank you 🫵 for playing, and for reminding why I still love what I do. See u in EC❄️

After many months of wallowing, it has been done. A book completed. Still super recommend the Ana and Din mysteries. Very Sherlockian but fantasy and also Pacific Rim but don’t worry about that.
