After being held in two of them as a boy, I fought for decades urging America to never again build concentration camps and put human beings in them. It breaks my heart to watch this happen twice now in my own lifetime.

I haven’t seen many people talking about Mississippi. Mississippi is holding seven legislative special elections because their previous districts violated the voting rights act. We have a chance to break the state Senate super majority today. 1/2

NEW—US Department of Education sent out standard Out of Office language to employees on Wednesday in light of shutdown. Later yesterday, workers tell me they found someone had updated their auto-responses without consent to a new one blaming Democrats. Version of original on left, updated on right:

Trump is aggressively ignorant. He does not learn, actively resists it, and has surrounded himself with people who enable his stupidity.

Democratic trifectas are vital bulwarks against Trump’s MAGA agenda — and we can secure a new one in Trump’s backyard. Make some calls to help Virginia Democrats flip the governor’s mansion, hold the legislature, and win other key elections up and down the ballot. 👇

They just tear-gassed us. They tried to run us over in a van holding a peaceful protester. They shot us with pepper balls. They dragged another protester into the facility.

moments ago, ice agents again came out of the broadview detention/“professing” facility to escort a silver suv out of the lot. one of the agents picked up and threw congressional candidate kat abughazaleh to the ground.

A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say. This is an attack on free speech and cannot be allowed to stand. All elected officials need to speak up and push back on this undemocratic act.

The amount of shit I got for this segment at the time was astronomical, and it was all from people who now stalk CVS employees to get them fired for insufficient online sadness. Cheering on political violence is both evil and not new, an outgrowth of an internet intentionally dismantled years ago.

One day after the Supreme Court lifted the ban on racial profiling, federal agents swarmed a car in Van Nuys. Four masked agents with guns drawn yanked people out, slammed them to the ground, and pointed a weapon at a pregnant woman. There is no justification for this. None.

Northern Ireland man from Lisburn kidnapped by Trump’s Ice raids because he “looked like a Mexican”. He had the correct visa, all his documents. He’s never been in trouble with police. Held in terrible conditions. A fellow captive couldn’t get his medication and dropped dead of a heart attack

1) Violent crime is horrific and unacceptable no matter where it occurs. 2) DC's violent crime rate is at a 30-year low. 3) Presidents have no authority to unilaterally take control of DC. Congress would have to pass a law, and I won't let the current effort get that far.

President Trump threatened to take federal control of D.C. again after a DOGE staffer known as “Big Balls” was injured in an attempted carjacking. Trump has cast the Democratic-led capital as a place ruined by liberal policies.

One aspect of the Republicans’ big, ugly bill that didn’t get enough attention until Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez elevated it over the last few days is the massive amounts of money it directs to the apprehension and detention of immigrants. https://trib.al/wtcaL64
