1/ Russians shouldn't listen to the American pro-Russian commentator and convicted pedophile Scott Ritter, warns a Russian analyst. Ritter's claims of an imminent Ukrainian collapse are a fantasy without a basis in fact, he says. ⬇️

Seven of the ten are owners of major media outlets and/or tech platforms. All of those seven have gotten into bed with the Trump administration in some way (as we documented in Free Press' Media Capitulation Index)

President Trump wants to build a 250-foot-tall arch. If completed, it will cast shadows on many graves and monuments in nearby Arlington National Cemetery, the @washingtonpost.com's 3-D analysis found. On some days, Trump's arch would even shade the grave and eternal flame of JFK.

The latest iteration has a V-tail, low-aspect-ratio wings and a refined fuselage. Russia keeps redesigning the weapons it sends into Ukraine. Each change gives air defenders a different target to detect, track and destroy.

A Russian Geran-5 jet-powered drone has come down in Odesa region. It was either downed or forced down. The dark airframe lies in a harvested field near a rural settlement, its twin tail fins still upright. A new branch of Moscow’s Geran/Shahed family has emerged.

PM of Norway & President of Finland spoke with Putin. Then they called Zelenskyy, who shared: I am grateful for detailed briefing and for support of our diplomacy and peace efforts. At least 18 early voting centers in rural Alaska have not opened as of Friday, state Sen. Bill Wielechowski says. The commonality? All the affected areas have at least a 60% Alaska Native population — with nearly a dozen having Alaska Native populations upwards of 90%: https://demdock.com/4yTW5Ze

My take on the Stubb, Støre, and Putin call: There should be no talks while Russia refuses to compromise. Yet since Trump insists on fake negotiations, having Stubb and Støre take the lead over Witkoff and Kushner is much better, especially as it was coordinated with Zelensky

Another way of reading this is that this dissent on methods, [not just votes] is part of the strength of the institution. Warsh is prevented from imposing his own idiosyncratic views about how comms should be done on the other appointees. A worse world is one in which Warsh can dictate.

Nick Timiraos@nicktimiraos.bsky.social

Warsh has made a point of saying less. His Fed colleagues are speaking as much as they were a year ago “It’s probably the worst of all possible outcomes,” says @claudia-sahm.bsky.social. “Nobody can force him to talk for the committee. And frankly, he can’t force other committee members to shut up"

Alaska authorities strongly oppose the Trump DOJ’s attempted “interference” in the election. This is significant because there were concerns the state—which sought to DQ the second Sullivan—would take the same side. But it didn’t. Quite the contrary. buff.ly/EJHtDpX

The biggest challenge for Burnham now is converting a good first impression into measurable improvements in the lives of voters. In focus groups, we often hear that voters are willing to give Burnham's Labour a ‘second hearing’ but need more to be convinced.

What do voters like - and dislike - about Burnham? 19% name him communicating well, and a sense he is in touch with ordinary people. But in our pre conference polling ‘people pleaser’ comes up as the top negative attribute (18%) as well a sense he lacks a clear vision (13%).

🧵It’s Day 100 of the Burnham premiership. Burnham has made a good first impression personally and lifted the Labour brand, with Labour up 7pts since May. There are longer-term challenges ahead, but Labour has enjoyed a sustained rise in support since July. What's driving it?
