When I was a child, I was always very worried about my father working in London, due to the risk of IRA bombs. This is despite the fact I always thought Ireland should a united country and that my country (the UK) had done terrible things - as does he! I feel there’s something in that.

Thinking about all the news re Nigel Farage being racist at school. I don’t think many of us are surprised. I don’t think I’ve changed my own basic principles much since being at school. You may change the detail or the label you put on your views, but most people’s core principles stay the same.

The two child cap is something that should never have existed in the first place. My criticism of the Labour govt is that they didn’t remove it immediately, not that they’ve finally done so now. No child asks to be born.

I keep thinking of all the worst case scenarios that could happen if Ukrainian isn’t properly support to win- not survive - win. I’m so frustrated that Europe has the power to properly support Ukraine with or without the US but we aren’t doing it! Do people not realise how hard won that power was?
