We, the Free DC Slate, assembled 47 members with a shared vision to course correct the DC Democratic Party with BOLD COLLECTIVE ACTION! This means that together we will: I. Organize for People Power II. Protect Our Neighbors III. Put DC's Wealth to Work Vote for all of us by June 16th, 2026!

For the last year Trump has subjected DC to an unjustified, illegal, and dangerous militarized occupation. The occupation has hurt our communities over the past year, but it has also ignited a powerful and growing movement — and we'll keep organizing until we win.

Apparently it's not enough for the Trump administration to waste hundreds of millions of dollars to house the soldiers occupying DC communities. They are now also blocking local efforts to meet the needs of homeless folks. www.bizjournals.com/washington/n...

For 11 days we are marking 1 year of Trump's Occupation of DC by telling the stories of the ways these forces are hurting our communities. Last night, on Day 1, we told the story of Julian Bailey, who was shot nine times by U.S. Marshals in February.

HR 9720 is the latest in a pattern of attacks from Congress trying to destabilize DC's finances. DoorDash is supporting the bill because the company doesn't want to pay TWENTY CENTS to restore food access programs for low-income households. DoorDash's revenue in the last 12 months was $14.72B.

For the last year and a half, DoorDash has been silent as delivery drivers in DC have been hunted in the streets and even killed by ICE and other federal police. Now, the company has come out in support of #HR9720 — the blatant attack on DC Home Rule — just so it can earn more money.

Yesterday Donald Trump's State Department published a report that targets 43 elected leaders, unions, and political organizations by name. It's a clear attempt to intimidate people for basic political activity. We reject it, and are in solidarity with the organizations in our DC community.

Governor Whitmer sent Michigan's National Guard to DC to assist with "America 250" — but the events happening on the National Mall this week are all "Freedom 250," Trump's personal, partisan version. They are supporting a sad, empty Trump rally.

The Trump administration is engaging in a bait and switch with Democratic governors, requesting troops to support the 250th then arming them with minimal pistol training and sending them out to patrol neighborhoods all over DC. At what point will these governors learn not to feed the fascism?

I voted for the Free DC Slate b/c it includes people whose work I appreciate—but also because the establishment Democratic slate's attempt at appropriating "Free DC" is scummy and deserving of rebuke, like their attempt to halt RCV.

I REALLY hate the idea of opposing a D.C. mayoral candidate because Trump threatened to punish us if we elect her. It’s worse than obeying in advance; it’s doing the fascists’ work for them. It’s letting Trump trick you into sacrificing D.C.’s autonomy. You can’t defend home rule by surrendering it.

There's always a slate of mostly incumbent party members running for Democratic State Committee. This year that's "Democrats United to Free DC". Avoid them and stick with "Free DC Slate" if you want change in the local party.
