Wrote a new thing for the first time in forever! This is a guide to making multiplayer games in Godot, though mostly focused on helping you understand how it all actually works. Hopefully you find it interesting/helpful! #gamedev #indiedev #godotengine sophies.games/blogs/b4352f...

The free intro to shaders guide we're working on for @godotengine.org is shaping up well. It should amount to about 1/5th of a book in size. We're making sure all the techniques covered (masking, warping, procedural shapes, etc.) are common building blocks directly applicable to many game shaders.

You cannot technically explain yourself out of UX issues, please stop trying. So often I see users bring up UX issues, and programmers then tell them how much work it was to create their product. It doesn't matter how much work it was!! What matters is if your target audience uses it or not.

An absolutely incredible add-on for anyone making shaders with Godot! Click different lines in your shader code and instantly preview the output at that point in the code.

Recently I got invited to join the new Godot UX team. When I have time I will be helping testing editor PRs and make Godot more usable for everyone. What are some of the most annoying things about Godot UI/UX that you think need attention?

We made this free open source app to help people take their first steps with coding. It's used in schools and part of Godot docs' getting started series. After focusing on our curriculum, I'm back to improving it. Next version drops in January with clearer lessons where newcomers struggle most.

We've been working on something special for you, GDLibrary: a completely free library for Godot devs Think of it as your go-to place whenever you need help: tutorials, guides, a glossary to look up terms, and open source demos and assets to use in your games! Here's a quick peek at what's coming.

Some of y'all are gonna think I've gone completely nuts, but I'm gonna talk about rounded corners and why circles suck. Most devs take it for granted that rounded corners are circles. Spoiler: They don't have to be! There is a much more aesthetically pleasing and cheaper alternative. ๐Ÿงต๐Ÿ‘‡ #gamedev

All the tutorials about testing web exports in Godot are like "You need to install Python and create a local server" You don't! It's built into the editor. Once you've set up a web export, click this new icon in the play bar and click Run in Browser. It's a nice time-saver for jams.
