With Republicans, every accusation is a confession. JD Vance has been engaged in anti-Muslim and anti-Arab hate speech this entire campaign.

Democrats laying the groundwork for real opposition, with Congress asserting budget authority to stand against Trump abuses and rights violations. Will have to overcome cries that not passing Trump's budget is irresponsible. But it's the opposite. And starting now makes that hurdle easier to clear.

NEWS --> Dems are planning novel ways to wield power of the purse against Trump's corrupt prosecutions of critics like Ilhan Omar if they win House. Reps Pramila Jayapal and Jamie Raskin tell me a range of aggressive tactics will be deployed. Details in my new piece: newrepublic.com/article/2171...

This is why it was a good line, because yes there are Americans who think of The Cheesecake Factory as a special occasion restaurant but Trump is not one of them. So thank you very much Donald for taking the bait.

Democrats really need to get ahead of what is clearly going to be a “we had brilliant economic plans that the Democrats messed up when they were just about to pay off.” The GOP is the party of bad economic policies that cannot and will never work, either in the short or long term.

Trump on the economy: “Short term you’re taking a hit”

Seems worthwhile to have this out of replies

Unfortunately, there's no way to handle conflict resolution without violence. It might be doable, by setting up organizations where everyone gets a say in the rules, and with checks and balances to keep a single individual from having too much power. Elon didn't like that world, though.

A minimal requirement that might help with what’s currently going on.

A Proposed Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. 1. The President shall not pardon any federal elected official of any crime until at least ten years and one day have passed since the last day of the official’s final elected term.

The thing about pointing out failures, lies, hypocrisies, and inconsistencies is that they build upon each other And, they give others permission to push in new directions. Like this one, which also happens to align with the GOP tendency to do the bidding of the Saudis and other oil-rich states.

RFK decided to once again target maskers in a speech, laughing about going to LA and seeing people driving in their cars while masked. And I want to make sure people know that studies have shown that the reason someone might wear a mask in their car is that it's none of your fucking business.

Psssst….thats because we started a war with them.

Jay Clayton, the director of national intelligence, said in a memo to Secretary of State Marco Rubio that Iran has increased its efforts to target and kill American officials abroad.

The current administration has worked on the presumption that NOTHING about the rule of law has to be respected - not norms, processes, court orders, legislation, “settled law” - so the only way to prevent that going forward is to force a full examination of the presumption and its natural outcomes.

The idea that, after everything that's happened, a future Dem administration/DOJ would just be forced to respect blanket, preemptive pardons issued by Trump to cover up crimes, is absurd. The pardon power is not a magic spell that we are helpless to overcome.

This is literally the end of the rule of law. If a President can pardon people committing crimes on his behalf - and the Supreme Court says he himself can't be prosecuted for crimes committed as part of his job - then the government becomes a lawless entity able to violate our rights without limit.
