🎡♻️🔂 When the buzzword "scale" is used, I hear "one-dimensional thought is systematically promoted by the makers of politics and their purveyors of mass information. Their universe of discourse is populated by self-validating hypotheses which [are] incessantly and monopolistically repeated."

🇭🇷⚽Scoured the apartment for Croatia gear for today's game. Came up with: - black croatian fish shirts - black Zagreb Harley Davidson shirt - 10 ft flag Hmm "what would my mom do?". She'd wear the flag.

Received a request for a custom ski design/paint of "interior Alaska lichen and mosses". This is what the research process looks like. Design is up next!

Community art critique last night got us thinking about what we want to do more of next year: a) sharing local clays with potters in Interior Alaska, b) building clay pitchers and holders for Brita filters, c) mixing ash glazes from wildland fires.

At today's pottery critique of each other's historic and contemporary pieces, a person introduced their sculpture of a woman with "I made a woman, because women are contemporary".

Dis/comfort exhibition is open! There's sub-arctic clay on display. There's sub-arctic clay urging you to get your hands dirty.

How do you feel comfort or discomfort in Northern locales? How do you respond to or think of dis/comfort through your identity or worldview? What sensory components communicate dis/comfort? Does dis/comfort influence how you imagine or understand ice, climate change, or the Circumpolar North?

Join Vanessa Raymond and me this afternoon on KSUA 91.5 FM at 4pm Alaska for an hour of "Them Thar Hills". We're chatting about post-mining river restoration. Featuring music of up(Yukon)river and downriver fiddlers.

good reminder that many of these "permanent" Alaska Native settlements were established in the 1950s at locations determined by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers based on barge accessibility
