Modern humans have brains that are about 40K years old. Isn't it curious they were not specialized for space travel or math or poetry or ok, maybe music/rhythm. Space travel was not an issue for our survival. Is space travel just a really long walkabout? And then consider the tech involved. How/why?

In America you can get arrested for giving water to people waiting in line to vote but the president is offering you $5k to vote for his party. - Too old for this shit

Remember: The GOPโ€™s nonsensical culture wars are meant to distract you from corporate corruption and plunder. [Cartoon by Jace Avery]

Americans could really do themselves all a favor and even the Democrats, stop pretending like you/we are so special/exceptional. Who knows, history and thus the present may have turned out ok if not better for human agency, scientific progress and other liberal values had there never been a USA.

Trump has completely ignored Kim/North Korea. Both for the relationship and about their nuclear arsenal--the arsenal Iran may desire but does not yet have. Come on now, legacy media and the rest of you, do your job.

"MaydayMaydayMayday, descending into the abyss of history, request emergency nation to take over controls." Roger, USA 1776, we copy you in a death spiral, over.

Boast you have taken out Iranian leadership, say no one is in charge there and then complain Iran will not negotiate. Trump is so smart. In Vietnam, the peace talks were sidelined by what shape the negotiating table should take. Remove47#

โ€œYou know," said Arthur, "it's at times like this, when I'm trapped in a Vogon airlock with a man from Queens, and about to die of asphyxiation in deep space that I really wish I'd listened to what my mother told me when I was young. Why, what did she tell you?" I don't know, I didn't listen.โ€

Daniela Amodei, the president and cofounder of Anthropic, was a literature major at UC Santa Cruz. She recently said, "In a world where AI is very smart and capable of doing so many things, the things that make us human will become much more important." Just an interesting quote in light of today.
