One thing about arcade games back in the day, pre-emulation, is that you never knew if you were going to see a game again. I always found it funny that, for the longest time, I could never find more about a game named "Twin Tiger" on the generic marquee. Turns out it was "Twin Cobra" (more)

...and it was a bootleg that used the Japanese version titled "Kyokyoku Tiger". And I could have got the NES version. Sure it wasn't a good port, at least looking back, but I would have probably loved it if I got it...

The cool thing about music is it's never too late to discover new stuff. One of my favorite parts about music is hunting in all the different directions of genres, band members, and what else I can find for more stuff to listen to and enjoy.

I was never into the cool music at the right time. Found out about White Zombie after Astrocreep 2000 because “More Human Than Human” video opened an episode of 120 Minutes after I watched an episode of Beavis & Butt-Head, immediately loved it. I have 2 Goji shirts, so I’m not Pearl Jam guy.

AAA games are all shit as none of them have a ninja on a motorbike, popping a wheelie, whist sword fighting demonic panther looking things as everything explodes Make that your next game narrative instead of some 500hr borefest with voice actors & emotions & shit 🥷⚔️🏍️🐈‍⬛💥-job done, $100 billion sales

June 16th is Space Invaders day as the legend turns 47yrs old Darius is Taito's 'fight aquatic enemies in space' series. A strange concept unless you know that the invaders are based on squid, crab and octopus and Darius is just a continuation of the same theme Shoot some aquatic life today🦑🦀🐙

Back in my day, we leveled up the old fashioned way

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will let players automatically raise their character’s level at points, Naoki Hamaguchi says. The option is aimed at players who just want to ignore the side content and play the main story, but are underpowered as a result. www.videogameschronicle.com/news/final-f...

I don't know if this is just me being an old man, but I never really noticed the video game crash when it happened. I just mostly saw it in 1982-4 as I had an Atari with fun games, the arcades had cooler games, and the home computer was a mysterious machine which had even more games.

Thinking about the computer post yesterday, I used to love basic programming when I was a kid. My biggest regret in life is not following it up like I should have in school and college. I could do more, but I always choked on tests, and I gave up too quickly.

"the DJ usually talked over the intro until the singing started" This is what I really hated about rock radio DJs back in the day.

I had a friend in college who never watched cinematics in games, no intros, no endings. A coworker once argued with me that Pixar movies weren’t real movies. Metallica’s One on the radio, the DJ usually talked over the intro until the singing started There have always been people that have no taste

With Martinez sadly retiring, that's her, Madison Eagles and Sara Del Rey gone; the standard bearers of a generation of highly underappreciated women who never got the platform they truly deserved in wrestling.

Sometimes just a bit of ink tones down the expression to where it’s meant to be, so the $4 Sting’s license can pop and he can hang out with his friend from Delta City.

And this post keeps me from doomscrolling on my downtime, and going on a Gen X nostalgia rush playlist... youtube.com/playlist?lis...

I might make a substack just as a place to log my favorite thing in the world. Music Video Tie-ins to Movies. For example, John Carpenter's music video for Big Trouble in Little China www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqPJ...
