If this is not the Middle Ages, why am I surrounded by the most superstitious, anti-science, willfully ignorant, hyper-religious weirdos who want white male Christians to run the world? Sounds pretty medieval to me.

I don’t know where this text came from but it’s a great response to those from other countries who don’t understand the U.S. I would add this: good luck getting any changes to the Constitution through Congress and the 50 States. We’ve dug ourselves a very deep hole.

The tragedy has been so knowable. This from seven years ago — and we’re still paying for so many Americans letting it happen.

The oil industry buys off Congress. No action on climate. The NRA buys off Congress. No action on guns. Insurance companies buy off Congress. No action on health care. Big Tech buys off Congress. No action on AI safety. The list goes on and on. Money in politics is the root of our dysfunction.
