Spymaster 1.0 is out now! 💥😎💥 We pushed hard to complete the game with incredible new missions, story mode and lots of tweaks here and there. Was a tough one to get through (games were you can manipulate time ...🤪), but really proud how it ended up.

The National Videogame Museum in Dallas isn’t a huge space but you could spend a day in there playing through 50+ years of gaming history. There’s an arcade before the gift shop and playable Virtual Boy in the VR section with Rift DK1 on display.

This is the fundamental takeaway I see killing transparent optics & it’s great to see The Verge express it. A year from now I’m unsure the Snap Specs still ship because of this. The reason you put a computer on your face — the content — is worse in transparent optics even if the “world” is better.

I want you to understand that Meta’s VR Glasses aren’t the glasses the industry promised. They're intriguingly different. They might be even better. www.theverge.com/tech/1003034...

One of the reasons I pour a tremendous amount of time into covering Walkabout, doing a design tour each release, is because I see them as barometer of the overall VR market. If their creative engine can’t run then VR as a games platform is truly in trouble.

Meta VR Glasses change the conversation around virtual reality. Tested's Norman Chan, CNET's Scott Stein, and Agile Lens' Alex Coulombe each tried out the new device this week and discussed details from their hands-on time. www.goodvirtualreality.com/p/meta-vr-gl...

Now posting Good Virtual Reality mainly to Bluesky, LinkedIn, and Substack. Recent podcast interviews introduce VR as both a medium and personal computing platform, from seniors socializing in standalone to recording podcasts in Chrome downloaded directly to a linux headset.

One of the best episodes of the Good VR Podcast yet talks with Norman Chan of Tested about the path from Oculus Rift DK1 to Steam Frame. Even better, we recorded this conversation in a pair of linux desktops in fully immersive standalone Steam Frames.

Just recorded a podcast with an organizer behind a senior center group in VRChat. From posting on Bulletin Board Systems in the 1980s to world hopping in VRChat in the 2020s is quite the journey through the ages of the Internet.

Phew. I think Resonite might get some Steam Frame support after all x3 To be clear though, I still think it's kinda ridiculous that devs have to go through the whole lottery process in the first place. As much as I like Valve as a company, as a VR dev I often feel we're left to dry.

Here's an excellent behind-the-scenes talk with Norm and Ian about their respective experiences reviewing Steam Frame. Great to hear their voices and insights, incl. a few gems in there. It's like a well-worn comfort blanket for me. 😅

A bellwether is defined “a reliable indicator of future change”. Walkabout killed its iPhone version & builds spin-off Dungeon Golfer for VR as well as consoles and Steam where people still pay for premium games. If Human Relations can’t hit its Kickstarter mark what future is there for VRtoFlat?
