Pilots were flying blind because maintenance crew forgot to remove tape from plane instruments. Conflicting warnings, faulty airspeed and altitude readings, basic instruments useless. Inverted and crashed in the Pacific, no survivors. The cockpit voice recording is stuff of nightmares.
Really excellent article with more details by the talented @kyracloudy.bsky.social
I think it’s feeble, but if life’s little frictions are too much to handle, by all means. Not sure why that requires my validation.
it is a little grating the performative scoffing at anyone ever finding that general product useful tho. i am happy that you are evidently perfectly adapted for modern life and find shit like reading emails from your insurance provider about which providers are in network deeply enriching. i do not.
You're confusing your own disposability with everyone else's. Don't flatter yourself by thinking your job was the extent of your redundancy.
journalism? ai is getting there medical? ai is getting there legal? ai is getting there farming? ai is getting there art? ai is getting there you can absolutely be a part of the creative and design process with ai, and you very well may keep a job! but your job is going to be very different
This is just Andy Weir's 'The Egg' for the particularly unimaginative.
This is interesting. You get assigned to being born at a random place and time in history, to see what a typical person's life might have been like then. Unfortunately I was born in 1403 in the valley of Mexico and died at age 4 from dysentery.
