In the nine years I've been freelancing with Wizards, almost every creative I've worked with has left for the exact reasons laid out by the Union here. Make sure to sign and support the people who make the game you love.

Yesterday, Wizards informed us that it doesn’t intend to voluntarily recognize the D&D or Studio X units of our union ahead of a vote. We remain committed to creating a workplace focused on wellness, transparency, and collaboration by winning our coming election.

I am proud and joyful beyond measure to join my colleagues in this effort to forge a mighty union. We, the workers who make D&D and Magic: the Gathering, are organizing to keep two of the best games of all time healthy and strong. Solidarity forever <3

This morning, the D&D team and Magic's Studio X informed our leadership of our intent to unionize. We love the games we make and the work we do, and unionizing is how we protect that work. unitedwizardsofthecoast.com/news/dnd-stu...

Very mentally good to occasionally treat your home city like you would a place you’re vacationing. Give yourself blocks of unstructured wandering time. Plan one interesting cultural activity per day. Drink a beer in the afternoon, talk to strangers who seem amenable to it

My main Resident Evil opinion is that I think it would have been a lot better if every scene hadn’t turned into an I Think You Should Leave bit halfway through

Last night at the party someone asked how long it would take a cup of coffee to cool down to drinking temp if you heated it to a million degrees (and it didn’t instantly vaporize for some reason). Two absolutely hammered chemical engineers went at it for a while and left their notes in the kitchen

Climate change has devastated America’s coastline, flooding the streets of New York—and in this new world of risen sea levels, there’s nowhere to hide. Coming this summer… JAWS 5: SHARK IN THE CITY

And that’s a wrap on the story we started three years ago, with Wilds of Eldraine. This one had a special place in my heart—it’s the end of the first arc I had the honor of planning start to finish. So thanks, if you’ve been reading all this time (or even if you just came in at the end)

Thanks to my colleagues, many of whom are not on Bluesky, for their tremendous support, whether that meant shoehorning legends into the card set or redesigning story spotlights at the last minute or doing an entire second job on top of your job because you love magic story (looking at you, podcast)

Last but not least: thank you to the players of the best motherfuckin game on the planet. Whether you’re a diehard Vorthos or a tournament grinder or a kitchen table player who’s just starting to recognize a name or two—stick around, we’ve got some extremely sick shit on the way

It was a real blast to nerd out about Reality Fracture with the Command Zone and friends! Come for the previews, stay for the Yargle leg day jokes

Magic: The Gathering@magic.wizards.com

Explore the Echoverse and see what Jace has changed to create his "perfected" reality. More Echoed Pairs, more colorshifts, and more CARDS! #MTGFracture youtu.be/_2qRU28gKsM

if you were to ask me what I've drawn the most, in the most variations, over the course of my life I could confidently tell you the answer is "frog wearing sunglasses"

One of the earliest questions Alison and I knew we wanted to explore for Reality Fracture’s story was a pretty simple one: what if Jace stopped holding back? You get a lot of that in this episode.

Magic: The Gathering@magic.wizards.com

The Theorist may be a little more than our cadre of Planeswalkers planned for. Read #MTGFracture Episode 5: "I Don't Need to Convince You": magic.wizards.com/en/news/magi...

I don't have a lot of time but I feel the demon (longform game writing) calling me again. is there any existing work about the jobification of games? I feel like an insane person

why does everything have progression system that will take me six months to get through! who actually enjoys the "daily log-in" attendance check! why is it considered fun to manage resources in a thinly veiled Microsoft Excel simulator!

My mid year reminder to artists! Wizards has a portfolio submission tool so if you’ve ever wanted to create art with your own hands, you can get it in front of real human art directors!

brother anyone could have seen this coming. you took the most annoying avatar of illiterate zoomers and paired it with the walking representation of the book your Dad falls asleep reading at the beach. Your target audience was the intersection of Oil and Water

“Bad news for publisher HarperCollins: The book-buying subset of MrBeast fans appears to be vanishingly small. Two people close to the project say The Most Dangerous Games is on track to be a historic bomb…”

STORY DAY! Come read the first episode of an arc finale three years in the making, from the inimitable @alisontheperson.bsky.social !!! You won't want to miss this, folks.

Magic: The Gathering@magic.wizards.com

Her name is Tamira, she betrayed her friends and completed her mission. She should be happy, right? Read Episode 1 of the #MTGFracture story by Alison Lührs right now: magic.wizards.com/en/news/magi...

Humbled and thrilled to share I wrote the story for Reality Fracture, the end of Magic’s Echoverse Arc! It was a joy to collaborate with old friends and return to the Multiverse once again.

if I was in a wasteland biker gang I would definitely be the guy wearing a helmet. I’d put spikes on it and paint a skull on the faceplate but the other raiders would know I’m just worried about head injuries

The point of writing a novel is picking out the theme-establishing epigraph, and maybe a second quote that creates interesting contrast with the first. All the other stuff (plot, characters) is kind of secondary

it is hard to communicate linear narrative on two-inch squares of cardboard
