Genuinely love this series. I do have some questions about it though, mostly in terms of spelling and the like due to it being audio only (except the prequel comics). I hope @travisbeacham.bsky.social would be willing to provide answers to a random fan.

#ImpactWinter (for those who got here some other way) is my episodic, full cast, immersive audio story from Audible. Set in a world where a comet impact has blotted the sun and vampires have taken over. It starts in the English countryside and follows two sisters, but grows from there.

As things have started calming down, I will maybe get back into posting again. Not sure if anyone will care. But it is a way to communicate, however little, with certain creators. My posting will not include random replies to others, though, as I am done dealing with hate, regardless of whom.

Few people will care about this at all, but I’ve noticed a serious uptick in violent rhetoric and hostility here comparable to the site I refer to as Norwegian Blue. As such, I will only be used by this account to talk to friends in DMs or to let them know we can continue by DM.

1. Let them make bad choices because bad choices are more fun. 2. Make every natural 1 as much fun as a natural 20 to get them to embrace character failure. 3. Don’t teach them to make optimal characters — they will learn fast enough on their own. 4. Embrace the Wild. 5. Know their boundaries.

I thought the Elf with a Gun's reason to exist was never made clear, just nearly so until he was finished off.

Then I don’t feel so bad for only vaguely remembering it. I think the Elf was a robot sent by the aliens that wanted the Defenders to break up. Er…spoilers for an issue released in the mid-80s, I guess.

So to summarize their approach: the American Revolution was even handed with villains and heroes on both ends, the French Revolution was entirely a bad thing 100% led by villains, but the American Civil War is not racist enough. Really nice to see their priorities. Really makes it easy to leave.

From what I have seen of Silent Hill f, it seems like a pretty good Japanese horror story and coming of age. It also feels like in no way, shape, or form is it a Silent Hill game. If someone said it was grown up Spirited Away? Sure. But Silent Hill is more than "has a fog and a UFO ending".
