Wondering if the rescheduling of cannabis will make it possible for companies to have access to the banking system in ways that will make it harder to slow the roll towards full nationwide legalization.

If I had explain American history in one sentence, I could do worse than "John Brown was hung for treason, but Robert E. Lee was not."

Grew up believing the "All the News that's Fit to Print" line that I pretty much took for granted until around the time of the Iraq war. Luckily, I was in the cadre of folks that got radicalized to the left after discovering my error, avoiding the liberal-to-reactionary pipeline (8-lane highway?).

The NYT is not being “gamed” by the far-right. They are not “failing” to portray things accurately. They are not “making mistakes.” They are a propaganda arm of capitalism— a large private corporation with values the same as the far-right. They are antagonists, not tragic antiheroes.

Avoid the violence/nonviolence debate. It’s a trap. The only thing that matters is what actions lead to more justice and less harm. Inaction and complicity in the face of brutal oppression is the worst form of violence. Never forget it.
