I quit X and came here to get back to following Habs posts and away from the MAGA, PP, racist, fascist nonsense. If I see political posts and reposts from your account, I may unfollow you. Nothing personal, just no interest in going back down that rabbit hole.

Lots of people crapping on the refs for the OT penalty call on Dobes... But it was clearly a penalty. Had the Sharks player not stumbled and lost his ability to chase Newhook, it probably goes uncalled. But Newhook would have been off to the races there if that wasn't called.

Watching Lou Ferringo Milli Vanilli it up in Sinbad of the Seven Seas on Tubi. The movie isn't as good as a Milli Vanilli record, but the lip sync is dead on.

I was thinking The Princess Bride ripped off their story-telling premise, but this movie is two years newer than The Princess Bride (one of the greatest movies ever made). So they ripped off The Princess Bride.

I am seeing and hearing a lot about how Larkin would be a good fit in Montreal and how if fans talk about it enough, maybe he will reconsider and add the Habs to his trade list. How about we do that with Crosby instead?

Waste of a great effort. Pulling Fowler with 2:32 to go before winning the faceoff and keeping possession in the O-zone was a mistake. Really need to work on the PP and PK.

It won't be too far into the future when we have AI watching the hockey game from hundreds of angles and making calls that are accurate 99.99% of the time. I wonder if we will think the game has improved or if it lost the human element?

I'm sure Marty is going to show more patience with Krieder on line 1, especially since Kapanen is still out, but they need to get the top line back together and let Krieder make an impact from line 2 (or 3).

Brian is back!

83 to go. The Canadiens open their season with a mature effort. It wasn’t spectacular but it was an intelligent road game. The win in Toronto in the season opener of the Call Of The Wilde for Global Montreal globalnews.ca/news/1207663...

The absence of Kapanen (and Newhook filling in on the second line) really illustrates why the Habs need a 2C or another top 6 winger. It's not that Newhook is bad there, but that the third line needs Newhook on it. Everyone in their right chair as Marty says.

Lots of exasperated comments about the Habs giving up a goal early and how it's like last season... Well, last season they had 106 pts and went to the Conference final so.

I didn't see last night's games so I'm watching the home one now... I think Danault likes playing with Slafkosky. I don't think I've ever seen him skate so fast. Perhaps he's trying to keep up with Newhook?

@mndamico.bsky.social I watch every Starr and D'Amico show, and you guys are always good, but your show today was exceptional. I loved the tone of your responses, especially when it came to fans criticism of Dach and how they think he and F. Xhekaj should be handled.

@mccagg.bsky.social I made it a point to watch the defense of Dach you produced. I didn't see much of the game against Toronto, opting for the home game, and when I did flip to that game, analyzing Dach's game wasn't a top priority. However, watching his shifts in isolation on your video, it's...

...now clear to me, he was very good in that game. His next game against Ottawa was similar. As you said, if the guy doesn't score, he often goes unnoticed, especially on a team that has so many exciting offensive players, but I admit Dach looked good. His positioning was stellar. You noted he...

...is in shape and that could be a big part of it. It also seems he understands the game better. Maybe that's just a result of conditioning, but you've completely changed my mind on the player. I'm now hoping they give him another opportunity this season. He can always be traded later if needed.

I just asked AI which term for it is most accurate - artificial intelligence or super intelligence. It told me, despite what Donald Trump thinks, artificial intelligence is the most accurate. So... Put that in your pipe and smoke it Donny.

I have concerns about Bolduc. He can shoot. He can forecheck. But that's where it ends for him. I don't see any signs that he has more to his game (although he's young). Can he be an effective player on this Habs team with a limited skill set? I'm not convinced.

I know podcasters want people to watch live, but I hate that YouTube interrupts the broadcast with ads and you can't hear what's going on in the podcast for those 15 second spans. I often wait until the podcast is over before I watch.

@mndamico.bsky.social I'm sure you and Shawn will get lots of similar feedback, but the super imposed brick wall behind you guys looks terrible. Go back to the way it was, or at least get different backgrounds. Sick Media is successful, but for its content, not its marketing or design.

Trump is at it again, escalating the trade war he started with Canada. As I Canadian I wish we'd put a 100% export tax on all oil, electricity and pot ash going into the US (the things Trump won't tariff because the US depends on them). Use that money to support businesses affected by his tariffs.

Just seeing a CNN poll showing the mid-terms are 50/50. How this is not 70%+ for Democrats is beyond me. I'm so done with the US. I feel bad for those who oppose Trump, but there's too many Americans who still support what's going on. It's sickening. Stop all trade with the US! We're done.

You might be a hypocrite if... You think any refugees should be turned away just because some may be terrorists, but you don't think all gun owners should be licensed just because some may be mass murderers.

I know some Canadian businesses who rely on exports to the US will be hurt by the new tariffs (through decreased sales), but I'm happy we walked away from negotiations. You can't negotiate with Trump. Now, let's place an export tax on the oil, pot ash and electricity we sell them.

I watch a lot of movies from China (kung fu types) and while I prefer the subtitles, a lot are dubbed. Some advice for people dubbing these movies - at least get someone with a Chinese accent to voice the lines in English.

Seeing that Supergirl is going to digital platforms on July 28 and being dropped from theatres due to disappointing box office ratings and all I can think is that people have too high of expectations for a superhero movie. It's far from perfect, but it's a fun movie. Far from DC's worst effort.

In the Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure series were told their band The Wild Stallions writes a song that, in the future, unifies the world and creates peace. I think Rush has already written that song... And over 100 more. Just not sure what to name the new religion. Rushism? Rushianity?

The longer we wait for Arber Xhekaj to get a new contract with the Habs, knowing his opportunity on D is very limited, and that the Habs want more size and grit in the bottom six, the more I am on the side of trying him as a fourth line forward, who could play D in the event of an in-game injury.

If this guy isn't dead, have him record a short video on a cell phone telling people he's on the mend. It's a really easy thing to do these days and the fact he hasn't done it is very telling.

So the World Cup of Soccer isn't over until July 19!? I have to see my timeline filled with soccer posts for another nine days... And likely then some? Can't wait for hockey season to begin.
