To go to school. To even try and imagine any future at all. Could you do it? I don’t know that I could.

100%. It’s a real place with real people and real culture and real food. The more you know Memphis, the more you see how racist and disgusting and offensive is with the Tennessee legislature just did to it. Then again, white Tennessee Republicans have always hated Memphis.

I’m not sure many people realize Memphis has also been under a massive ICE/ATF/FBI deployment, as well as bring policed by the Tennessee National Gaurd. This has been in place since last fall. People have died. Guardsmen shot a 20 year-old in the back.

I'm going to try to do this cleanly. Today's right wing governments are networked to each other. Those networks are well-documented. You can read about them in books. Following the elections in one node of that network is good practice for understanding the U.S. node.
